No. The story for Final Destination was first conceived by American screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick as a episode of "The X Files" (1993-2002). Reddick's story was made into a screenplay by Reddick, along with American producers Glen Morgan and James Wong (who also directed the movie). The popularity of the movie has led, so far, to three sequels, Final Destination 2 (2003), Final Destination 3 (2006), and The Final Destination (2009) as well as several novels and a comic book series.
