It's no wonder you rarely see Frank Skinner without his erstwhile counterpart David Baddiel anymore. I'd be embarrassed too if I used to be a writing partner with someone who made a show like this.
The expectations on this show were huge, mostly due to word of mouth and Sky billing it as "The British Seinfeld". Unfortunatley Baddiels syndrome didnt come close to being the British Seinfeld. Or being close to anything at all. It was painfull to watch, the characters were dry, dull, contrived, and very artificial. Baddiel is not a good actor himself, and his suppourting cast couldnt work theyre way around this. The entire cast apart from the stay look painfully uncomfortable throughout Baddiels performances. Storylines were also plain, unoriginal, very contrived, and just not interesting. It's hard to beleive Sky gave this the go ahead, if it wasnt for them showing Time Gentlemen Please later in the year I'd have wodered how desperate they were for a comedy, no matter its quality.
I would say avoid this, but I think its safe to say this will never see the light of day on TV again. Even if anyone did videotape it, I'm sure it's been taped over a long time ago. Probably more than once, just to be safe and make sure that its gone.
