General Hospital character Maxie Jones is pretty resilient. Her portrayer, Kirsten Storms, is no different. Maxie has been put through the wringer on the soap.
When she was a young girl, she survived a heart transplant. She has an absent father, and her mother wasn’t around much as she grew up. Maxie’s sister and husband were both murdered. She delivered one baby on the side of the road, and another in the woods. Most recently, her fiancé and the father of her youngest daughter turned out to be a psychotic killer.
Storms has also been through some turmoil and is standing strong.

Storms knew she wanted to be an actor. More than that, she knew she wanted to be in soaps.

Kirsten Storms plays Maxie Jones on General Hospital. Maxie is the daughter of the legacy super couple Frisco and Felicia. Her character has been through it all.
Maxie grew up with an absent father and a sometimes-absent mother. But she was lucky to have her stepdad Mac Scorpio raise her and her sister Georgie. Speaking of her sis, she was murdered by the “Text Message Killer” as a teen.
Maxie had a heart transplant as a little girl, she was kidnapped, her husband was shot to death, and she was terrorized by a madman she almost married. A typical soap life.
Although not as bad as Maxie, Storms has had her fair share of drama as well. She shared details of her life with Maurice Benard on his State of Mind podcast.

Soap opera fans know Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones on General Hospital. She has starred on the daytime drama since 2005, and her character is a fan favorite.
Soap acting was a dream come true for Storms, whose mom watched the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful while she was growing up. Before General Hospital, she starred on Days of Our Lives as Belle Black.
Storms wanted to act as a young girl growing up in Orlando, Florida. Her parents enrolled her in acting classes at the age of five, then a talent agent discovered her.

Fans of people cheating death and Rube Goldberg machines get ready because we're eatin' goooooood tonight! Earlier today it was announced that the "Final Destination" franchise was getting a new installment, with the directors of 2018's "Freaks," Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, tapped to bring "Final Destination 6" to life.
The directing duo has a fascinating background, having co-directed the live-action "Kim Possible" movie for Disney Channel, with Lipovsky directing "Dead Rising: Watchtower" and "Leprechaun: Origins." The Disney connection seems weird until you realize Lipovsky got his start as a kid actor in plenty of family-friendly horror fare like "Goosebumps" and Disney's "So Weird," while also appearing in "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century" (which is extremely exciting news for me and like ... six other people on the planet). Regardless, the two made something really special with the sci-fi horror film "Freaks," which put them on the radar of the New Line...

BTS and Coldplay went fully, gloriously sci-fi in the music video for their collaboration, “My Universe.” In the new music video, released at midnight on September 30th, the two bands exist in a futuristic reality where music is forbidden. In spite of the ban, and with the help of a space DJ, the groups come together for a high-energy, galaxy-spanning performance of their new song.
The “My Universe” music video/short film is directed by Dave Meyers, an American filmmaker best known for his commercials and music videos, which include MVs for artists Drake, Ed Sheeran, Pink, Normani, Ariana Grande, and many, many more. High-concept, genre-driven music videos are par for the course in the visually immersive world of K-pop, but are less common in western music videos, which have more “grounded,” realistic aesthetics, even when they skew fantastical. A great example of the latter is Harry Styles’ “Adore You” video.

“General Hospital” star Kirsten Storms is “on the mend” after brain surgery earlier this week, the soap star shared in a series of Instagram videos on Friday.
“Less than 48 hours ago I had brain surgery, hence the neck brace,” she said. “It was on the lower portion of my brain … It’s been an interesting last couple of days.”
“Emme is taking care of me until I get to my at-home nurse,” she said, referring to her former “General Hospital” co-star Emme Rylan, who also appeared in the videos.
Storms said she would be recovering for “the next several weeks” but plans to return to work on the show when she is fully healed.
“What they had to drain and remove was not cancer — I want to clarify that right now before the internet goes crazy wild with rumors about this,” she said. “I had a very large cyst that had split into two,...

Disney Channel is set to remake it’s first original movie “Under Wraps” with a new cast, the network announced Friday.
The new project is described as a “contemporary comedic remake” of the original 1997 Halloween movie featuring new cast members Christian J. Simon, Malachi Barton, Sophia Hammons and Phil Wright. It is slate for a 2021 premiere on Disney Channel.
The movie follows three friends, Gilbert (Simon), Marshall (Barton) and Amy (Hammons), who happen upon and awaken a mummy, which they affectionately name Harold (Wright), and must rush to return him to his resting place before midnight on Halloween. Along the way, the team narrowly escapes a nefarious group of criminals intent on selling the mummy to the highest bidder. When Harold is inevitably captured, Marshall, Gilbert and Amy must band together to stand up to the criminals, face their fears and rescue their new–but rather “ancient”–friend.

Zoom, zoom, zoom. Make my heart go boom boom. Disney+ is here.
Much of the focus around the launch of Disney's new streaming service platform has been on its flashiest of assets—your Star Wars and your Marvel movies and TV shows. But Disney is a massive media conglomerate with more assets in one of its mouse ears than most media companies have in their whole being. I’d like to begin by congratulating you — and your many empty Kleenex boxes — on surviving 10 hours of American Idol auditions. It hasn’t always been easy, but at least we can take solace in knowing that most of the people we’ve come to know and love will soon be eliminated, making the whole introductory process kind of pointless. (Wait, what?)
In addition to concluding the 17th year of auditions, Monday’s episode also summoned back a few of last season’s heavy hitters — including winner Maddie Poppe, who surprised the judges (and me, I’ll admit!) by posing...

Beginning in 1997, the Disney Channel began its Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOMs). Though they're still popular among kids, it was the children and teens of the late ’90s/early 2000s that got to witness the golden age of one of the best kinds of TV movies: “Brink!,” “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century,” “Smart House,” “Halloweentown,” and “The Luck of the Irish” are among just some Dcom classics. And while just hearing titles of Disney Channel Original movies brings a wave of nostalgia for millenials, many of them bring something else: familiar faces. Some of today's A-list actors have been in these Disney Channel TV movies. Let's not forget we were first introduced to “Neighbors” star Zac Efron in the Disney original, “High School Musical!” Click Here To View The Slideshow.

If The Fault in Our Stars met Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century in a bar, and the two had a one-night stand, their love child would look a lot like Star-Crossed, the CW’s newest series that deals with teen illness, prejudice, and sexy aliens. I didn’t have high expectations going into the pilot, which ended up being a good thing, because this show pleasantly surprised me. Was it a perfect pilot? They never are. But let’s suffice it to say that I’m intrigued.

Remember back in the day when the “21st century” was some dangerous and amazing place? Computers would take over the world! We’d all live in space! Cars would fly! Well, we can’t technically say that won’t happen by the end of the century, but now that we’re more than a decade into things, we can’t help but wish some of those theories had already come true.

Tender moments abound.
It’s been a long time since we talked about the fan-based project, Star Trek: Phase II. Last year around this time they released “Blood and Fire Part 1” with Captain James T. Kirk (James Cawley) still piloting the USS Enterprise, but now with his nephew, Ensign Peter Kirk (Bobby Rice) on board, and behaving just as recklessly as his famous uncle. He’s also having a rather torrid relationship with Lt. Alex Freeman (Evan Fowler).
If you need a refresher on the plot of Part 1, you can read it here. And you can watch and download both episodes here.
From this point on, we’re in *****spoiler***** territory.
