Bike Messanger and aspiring singer Henry is nearing his 30th birthday and has yet to meet the girl of his dreams. During a bus ride he bumps into that girl, Claire. Unfortunately she is dating the man who knocked him off his bike.
Henry starts to re-connect with Claire when they meet for lunch. Laura Kennett makes a pass at Marshall but he turns her down and asks Claire to marry him. She turns him down and seeks solace in Henry but remains conflicted.
Claire turns down Henry's dramatic proposal and can't be contacted. Marco attempts to return to a normal life but struggles with Gina's infidelity. Marshall is living alone so rekindles a possible romance with Laura Kennett.
Despite being in a new relationship, Marshall acts on a postcard sent by Claire and visits her at the seaside, complicating her new life. Henry dates a fan of his songs. Marco and Gina attempts to save their disintegrating marriage.
Marco excepts his marriage is over and packs his bags to stay at Henry's. Claire gives Marshall an ultimatum about wanting children. While Henry's music career is taking off Claire's return brings back some unwanted memories.
Henry is devastated that Claire won't be marrying him. Marshall has to look for a new job after getting sacked for going absent without permission. Claire discovers she's pregnant but doesn't know who the father is.
Claire is pregnant and it's her wedding day. Marshall is beginning to have major doubts and is indifferent to Claire's pregnancy. Gina asks Marco to go together as a family letting down Heather. The marriage feels like a wake.
