A music video in support of Kanye West's single called "Amazing" has been premiered. The video is shot in Hawaii and directed by Hype Williams. Unlike most of his other videos, which are filmed as animated videos, this newly-debuted one contains real footage with a scene of him singing the song near a campfire and wandering in the middle of a woods.
"Amazing" is the third single coming from West's fourth studio effort "808's & Heartbreak". The song has West joining forces with Young Jeezy. It recently was featured in the promo ad of this season's NBA playoffs.
Kanye West's "808's & Heartbreak" itself has arrived in U.S. stores since November 24. It lines up Kid Cudi and Lil Wayne as featured artists in addition to Young Jeezy. Cudi lends his vocals in a track titled "Welcome to Heartbreak", while Wayne is featured in another song called "See You in...

New York genre stalwart Larry Fessenden has been a very busy man as of late. The writer/director of the much-praised Wendigo and The Last Winter has become a veritable East Coast Roger Corman in recent years, producing a string of low-budget genre features for the Scareflix banner of his Glass Eye Pix production company. One of them, the psychedelically tinged I Can See You, will soon have its premiere theatrical engagement in Manhattan—with a special added bonus.
I Can See You (pictured right), the feature writer/directing debut of Graham Reznick (sound designer on Scareflix’s The Roost, Automatons and Trigger Man), will be playing at the new hi-def Cinema Purgatorio theater at Kgb/Kraine (85 East 4th Street) starting Wednesday, April 29 and continuing at least through Tuesday, May 5, with an additional show already slated for Sunday, May 10. With London conquered, Michelle Obama and her husband rapidly began winning Continental hearts in the French city of Strasbourg Friday. Whisked from Air Force One to the city's gilded Rohan Palace, the Obamas came face-to-face with their glamorous equals - French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. While the political world focused on the Nato summit, the press was riveted by a fashion summit of the world's two chicest first ladies. Michelle Obama wore a brilliant Thakoon three-quarter length black mantilla coat festooned with red poppies and tied at the neck. Bruni-Sarkozy, a former model for Chanel, donned a demure,...

NBC has given a pilot order to "Parenthood," a dramedy a based on Ron Howard's 1989 feature starring Steve Martin and Dianne Wiest that centered on a Midwestern family.
"Friday Night Lights" creator/exec producer Jason Katims wrote the adaptation, produced by Universal Media Studios and Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine TV. (The feature, which earned two Oscar nominations for co-star Wiest and Randy Newman's song "I Love to See You Smile," was produced by Imagine and Universal Pictures.)
Katims, Howard and Grazer are exec producing the pilot.
"Parenthood" would not interfere with the future of cult favorite "Lights," which is up in the air, sources said.
The 1980s are definitely in this pilot season. In addition to "Parenthood," pilots based on the 1980s feature "The Witches of Eastwick" and mini "V" have been ordered by ABC.
Meanwhile, NBC has the pilot "Lost in the '80s," also set in Reagan America.

Rumor has it, Kanye West may be entering recording room with Rihanna. A source tells Perez Hilton that the two singers will be collaborating on a re-recorded version of Kanye's single "Paranoid" taken from his latest album "808's & Heartbreak".
If the rumor is proven to be true, the duet track will reportedly be released sometime in January 2009. However, no statement has come out from both Kanye and Rihanna's managements regarding the issue.
Previously, Kanye West shared that "Paranoid" was indeed most likely to be his next song after singles "Love Lockdown" and "Heartless". However, he mentioned he was "not gonna release [the track] for awhile" to let his two previously-released songs "soak into the culture."
Kanye's fourth studio LP "808's & Heartbreak" has been available for purchase since November. It features Kid Cudi on "Welcome to Heartbreak", Young Jeezy on "Amazing" and Lil Wayne on "See You in My Nightmares".

Can Will Smith keep his $100 million streak alive? Ultimately, it doesn't matter, probably not even to him, but it's been an incredible run all the same.
Since the first Bad Boys, released almost 13 years ago, Smith has only had two other films earn less than eleven figures at the box office. They were back-to-back, too: The Legend of Bagger Vance and Ali. It worked out well for him, though, with Ali earning Smith his first of two Oscar nominations.
He's had a run of eight straight films that have gone over $100 million, and the last three have made over $200 million. All told, dating back to Bad Boys, his fifteen movies have made just under $2.4 billion in the U.S., which is an average of $159 million each. That's not bad when you consider that Hitch and The Pursuit of Happyness performed even better than that average.
But Seven Pounds might have...

A brand new single titled "Amazing" coming off Kanye West's upcoming fourth major studio album "808's & Heartbreak" has surfaced. The new track is produced by Kanye himself and features rapper Young Jeezy.
Beside having Young as a musical guest, Kanye's soon-to-be released LP also lines up Lil Wayne as his collaborator on new single "See You in My Nightmares". The effort was originally scheduled to be dropped in the U.S. on November 25 but was changed for early U.S. release on November 24, a day before the common release day of Tuesday.
Speaking of the early release schedule, Kanye's recording company Def Jam reportedly want to take the advantage of the Thanksgiving shopping weekend. In related news, an online video featuring a red-blood heart symbol has been posted to promote Kanye's "808's & Heartbreak".

What's going on in Kentucky? Judging by My Morning Jacket's new record and its hometown tourmate Wax Fang, it's like a flair for theatricality is being transmitted through the Louisville water. But while Mmj's turn to prog went for funky twists, it's immediately clear from the grandiose opening of Wax Fang's La La Land that frontman Scott Carney is fully intent on creating a Pink Floyd-esque prog-rock opera. From spacey, eerie psychedelia to whistling to references to World War II, the album conveys a vision as strongly as The Wall did, but with a less-polished, basement aesthetic that provides vivid moments of needed brightness. Spanning soaring whirls of energetic guitar pop ("The Doctor Will See You Now") and rolling, break-of-dawn mini-epics reminiscent of Arcade Fire (the closing "Wake Up Sleepyhead!"), La La Land is a fiercely focused collection with an impressive, bold ambition and artistic cohesiveness. It's a.

One of the edgiest movies at the 46th New York Film Festival (Friday-Oct. 12) has to be "I'm Gonna Explode," from Mexico.
The absurdist comedy follows the adventures of two teenage rebels without a cause: Ramon, whose mom died in a car crash caused by her drunken husband - a corrupt, right-wing congressman - and the working-class Maru, whose dad is an illegal immigrant in the Us.
The two kids meet in school - she's the only one who applauds when Ramon fakes his own hanging as part of a talent show. (He calls his performance "See You in Hell.")

One of the frustrating realities of the Toronto International Film Festival is that with over three hundred films in the program it is a physical impossibility to see everything that you want. Such was the case with Voy A Explotar, the third feature from Drama/Mex director Gerardo Naranjo. Naranjo has emerged as one of the brightest lights of current Mexican film and though both Michael and I were hoping to catch this one I don’t believe either of us actually made it to a screening. Here’s an excerpt from the Tiff program guide:
Misfit Román Valdez is the son of a respected yet corrupt politician in the city of Guanajuato. Having grown up in a world of privilege, he does nothing but give his father grief, blaming him for his mother’s untimely death. After being expelled from the best private institutions in the country, he ends up at the same,...

Kings of Leon have ended Katy Perry's five-week reign over the UK singles chart. The Us four-piece - made up of three brothers and their cousin - score their first ever number one with 'Sex On Fire', forcing Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl' into second position. Cliff Richard, bidding to become the only artist to top the chart in six consecutive decades, has to settle for the number three spot with 'Thank You For A Lifetime'. Outside of the top ten, notable gains come from Miley Cyrus, who climbs from 14 to eleven with 'See You Again', and Gym Class Heroes, who rise from 16 to 12 with 'Cookie Jar'. Meanwhile, (more)...

Prydz remains in second place with 'Pjanoo', while the Pussycat Dolls debut in third with 'When I Grow Up'. Notable gains come from Miley Cyrus, who climbs from 23 to 14 with 'See You Again', and Ne-Yo, who leaps from 39 to 18 with 'Miss Independent'. If we’re being honest most films to emerge from Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix label tend to wear their budget limitations on their sleeve a little bit. But you now, we keep an eye on them because small budgets or no, Fessenden has a knack for both finding and nurturing talent and the imprint tends to get behind some truly interesting work. The latest to come down the line is I Can See You, a trippy horror picture written and directed by Graham Reznick. Here’s how a producer describes it:
It’s a twisted narrative about upstart ad-men, left to their own devices on an ill-devised camping trip and how they cope when something unexplainable unfolds. It’s a bit of a psychedelic experience, in the vein of David Cronenberg, Nic Roeg, or Kenneth Anger…
