A rare thing: a really funny Romanian movie

Usually, Romanian comedies are not funny. We Romanians have a great sense of humor, but the problem is our movies don't. Surprisingly, this film is deliriously funny at times; on the other hand, it's not just a comedy, it also has black moments, when the laughter dies and it dawns on you maybe it's not a comedy at all. One of the only few Romanian movies I'd recommend without hesitation, for example as opposed to other generally well-rated "comedies" like "Operatiunea Monstrul". Dem Radulescu and Sebastian Papaiani, but not only them, are really great and prove they are great actors who were just so unfortunate as to live in a bad movies country.

Excellent comedy, probably one of the best ever made in Romania.

This is probably one of the best comedies of the golden age of Romanian cinema with Dem Radulescu at the top of his form, a good script and the funniest dialogues. However, you have to speak Romanian to fully taste this piece of work.

The movie presents in a very dynamic and unpredictable way the adventures of 2 swindles : a mentor and his disciple. They are playing with human naivety and feelings, a flavored subject that never dies, even the social habits and customs change over the years. The action is spiced up by the atmosphere of Romanian lifestyle in times of communism (early 70's). But the great value of the movie is given by the brilliant lines and the incredible acting of remarkable Romanian comedians such as: Dem Radulescu, Vasilica Tastaman, Sebastian Papaiani and the others in the casting list. Dem Radulescu is a reference in Romanian comedy act and this role fits him perfectly in this particular movie. My favorite scene is the one near Vasilica Tastaman. I recommend this movie and I cherish it because it always succeeds to make me laugh and forget my problems, no matter how often I see it. Enjoy it if you decided to watch it!

the best Romanian comedy

Maybe the best Romanian comedy. Dem Radulescu is clearly on of the best Romanian actor. You can see all the film in best quality on: "www.instant-crime.tk". A comedy like a caricature about Don Juan, or a non-romantic Don Quijote and his help Sancho Pansa. A parody at the communist system. I love this film. I never got enough of hem. I ask me why? And I ask me if humorist is a matter of a intellect. If we try to see the film from the "formal" point of view, the film have nothing special for the time when he was made. Nothing from late "novel vogue" or something like that. But if we accept then a film in a artistic way of interpretation should be more than only "form" than is the film a "meisterwerk" for his self. I see than few people can't understand, can't recognize, the way how the Romanian normal people are showed in this film. I intent to believe than the humor are a matter of perception and sensibility. I'm curios to know the age of this people. Every time when I see black in front of my eyes I start to see this film. After five minutes I'm happy again. It is like a... very good... drink, or something like that. Try and let me know how it was. A very subversive film inside of the content, sensible political opposite but also a very existentialistic film.

Disappointed

Worst production and directing!!! I should expect this, I am not a Geo Saizescu fan. I watched this movie because I saw it has a good mark here, but it was a mistake.

Two points for: the interesting screenplay. One point for: the great actors (Dem Radulescu and Sebastian Papaiani) but I should say I enjoyed them more in other productions, like BD. Stela Popescu is a great actress too and I enjoyed the role she had.

This is not enough for me!! I prefer to watch them in other movies and I'm sure I'll be glad to do this. I found this movie a waste of time.

3/10 and believe me, this is a good mark for what I saw.
