Krazy Kat and his girlfriend go from having a picnic on the beach to being trapped on an out-of-control roller coaster in this unexceptional cartoon.
During the late silent era, Krazy had lost most of her comic-strip individuality, to become a Felix the Cat imitation. Now it was 1931 and Krazy was following the latest hot trend, looking a lot like Mickey Mouse with cat ears and a girlfriend in a dress and wearing heels that made her look like Minnie Mouse.
This one starts out with "everything is alive" gags, including the fire (interestingly, Calcifer in HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE looks and acts very similarly) and hot dogs. This is followed up by a ride in a runaway roller coast car.
Technically this is a good cartoon, with some nice point of view shots and solid-looking figures. Money-saving creeps in only in the last minute as some obviously money-saving looping shows up. However, ts derivative nature and seen-it-before gags makes it merely adequate.
