The jury trying former Sopranos actor Lillo Brancato for murdering a police officer have been told by the slain cop's partner to ignore his fame and focus on the facts.
Brancato and Stephen Armento stand accused of killing off-duty officer Daniel Enchautegui when he disturbed them while they robbed his neighbour's house in The Bronx, New York in 2005.
But Enchautegui's former partner, Detective Robert Korn, is angry so much media attention has been focused on Brancato, a 32-year-old actor who played Robert De Niro's son in A Bronx Tale and junior mobster Matthew Bevilaqua in The Sopranos.
Korn tells the New York Post, "It gets me kind of heated that people are more concerned for this kid because he came from a good family. So did Danny."
The trial is due to begin in New York next month.

Mad Men has definitely made its mark in television history, garnering 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations alongside Damages and becoming the first basic cable television series to be nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. While some might question the success of the show and where this might be rooted, viewers might say that it is the loyal fan base of the show that makes it very successful. However, delving deeper into the production of the series, we can see that it might be just more than that.
In fact, creator Matthew Weiner, the two-time Golden Globe Award winning screenwriter, television producer and director behind Mad Men admits that it took him several years to perfect the series, which returns with new episodes on September 28 at 10pm on AMC.
"When time stacks up against itself, all the events look very close together. But when it's happening, you don't

The Sopranos actor Joe Pantoliano headed to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota this week (begs01Sep08) to lobby politicians on behalf of the mentally ill.
The star, who suffers from clinical depression, runs the No Kidding charity, an organisation which aims to remove the stigma surrounding brain disease.
Pantoliano campaigned outside the U.S. Republican Party's annual event - during which Senator John McCain formally accepted his party's nomination to run for presidency - in a bid to raise awareness and defend sufferers of the illness.
He tells the New York Post's PageSix, "My mum was bi-polar, and it runs in my family.
"We want to take the sting out of mental illness, so it's like having diabetes or asthma, so the all-American brain gets the same constitutional privileges as our gallbladder."

Jason Cuadrado, the Los Angeles filmmaker who made one of the most impressive indie films I’ve seen in a long time, Tales From the Dead (review) dropped me a line last night with some exclusive pics from and news on his latest venture, the short film called “Monstrous Nature”.
The film is about a nun who is kidnapped and wakes up in the woods with a very disturbed man who she soon comes to learn, quite contrary to her faith, is a werewolf, and he’s got some very twisted plans for her. Oh, I’m so there.
For a short film, the cast and crew are pretty impressive. Camillia Sanes (War of the Worlds, “The Shield”) is in the role of the nun, and Gary Perez (“The Sopranos”) is the disturbed lycanthrope. Aj Raitano (Final Destination 3) was the cinematographer, and makeup was handled by Graham Shcofield (Midnight

38-year-old New York actor Ken Leung ("Rush Hour," "Saw," "The Squid and the Whale") may have only gigged on a single episode of "The Sopranos" (as Junior Soprano's violent protégé in a psychiatric hospital), but it was enough to inspire producers to write him into another TV pop phenomenon, "Lost." As brooding spiritualist Miles Straume, one of the elusive strangers to parachute onto the island, Leung brings to the role both quiet menace and caustic wisecracks.
Leung can also be seen in writer/director David Kaplan's rotoscope-animated indie "Year of the Fish," a contemporary retelling of the Cinderella fairytale set in a seedy massage parlor and the streets of Chinatown. Leung costars as Johnny, an accordion player who may also be the Prince Charming to disillusioned immigrant Ye Xian (An Nguyen). Notoriously shy, Leung graciously offered up a phone interview from Hawaii while preparing to shoot

An Icons of Fright Exclusive! The first review of the long-awaited "Return to Sleepaway Camp"!
It's been 5 years since principal photography completed on “Return To Sleepaway Camp” and this reviewer has to wonder why it's taken so long to get the movie out. Especially when you consider that this is a sequel that finally lives up to the rude and nasty spirit of the original “Sleepaway Camp”. Forget the mid-80's sequels, “Return To Sleepaway Camp” is The movie us fans have been waiting for.
The sequels that hit video store shelves in '88 and '89, featuring Pamela Springsteen as Angela, were adequately goofy/gory spoofs of the cheapo slasher subgenre. They featured enough splatter and contrived continuity from the original to tide over fans for almost two decades. Still, “Sleepaway Camp” writer-director Robert Hiltzik had nothing to do with them. While they hold up as

Vincent Pastore was so fat as a baby that he had to be baptized at Sea World. Actor Paul Borghese can't remember which comic came up with that line since there were so many shots taken at Big Pussy of "The Sopranos" during his roast at the Friars Club. Potty-mouthed roastmaster Judy Gold introduced Pat Cooper, Deanna Martin, "Goumba Johnny" Saliano and John "Cha-Cha" Ciarcia, who made the night by literally falling off the stage.
