Kurt Forster : Peter Eisenman is an architect who illustrates that things aren't necessarily what they're thought to be, or have remained what they once were. And one of his earliest gestures, one of his initial decisions, was to take a thing away from itself. His very early houses are all based on the idea that you can slip into them, in the interval that he has left open between what a house was and what a house might be. So it's a gesture of making things different from themselves, and thereby giving us a way to experience what might have happened between them, and between the past, and our own situation.
