  • Revealing mistakes: In the final scene, there is a sticker on the "City Law School" door that reads "Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey".

  • Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Mike enters the Troopers card game wearing a jacket, is thrown out of the game without it, and is shown later wearing the jacket again. But you can (barely) hear the jacket get thrown onto the ground after him.

  • Continuity: When Worm and Mike go over to Gramma's place, Worm is chewing a cocktail stick the whole time which he throws away when he begins to yell at Gramma. Gramma promptly grabs him by the collar and the cocktail stick is back in his mouth again.

  • Continuity: In the Turkish/Russian bathhouse, Mike is seen leaning against the wall from one camera angle, but from another camera angle his hands are at his sides.

  • Factual errors: New York State Police cars are shown with blue and red lights on their roofs, but in New York, the State Police use only red lights.

  • Continuity: The baseball cap jumps on and off the bed when Mike is talking to his girlfriend after the judges' game.

  • Continuity: The card player sitting across from Worm in jail removes a cigarette from his ear twice.

  • Continuity: As Mike talks to the professor in the bar about Mike missing the meeting, the professor's cigarette swaps hands repeatedly between shots.

  • Crew or equipment visible: A reflection of a sound man can be clearly seen from the side of the car as Worm gets out to meet Mike and his supposed girlfriend.

  • Continuity: In the first part of the final poker game between KGB and Mike, when KGB has just reraised $5000, Mike starts pushing all his chips forward to go all in, the shot is taken from behind KGB and you can see KGB's left hand touching his face. The next shot from the opposite direction (when you see the continuation of Mike pushing his chips forward) KGB's hand is down on the table.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Worm is waiting for Mike outside Mike's apartment, stickers on the window say "NO ENUS" with both words centered. "ENUS" should have been shifted to the right, as the original word "MENUS" would probably have been centered when the letters were originally applied.

  • Factual errors: There are a lot of instances of string bets in the various different games - people moving their chips into the pot in two separate motions - but by rule, if you don't verbally declare your bet, your first motion is your bet. Also, things like "I call your $20000 and raise you xxxx", "your $5000, plus another xxxx" etc. would be declared calls, because your "raise" was a secondary declaration.

  • Continuity: When Worm approaches Mike at the Taj Mahal poker room and sits down the dealer is "washing" the deck. (Placing all the cards face down and mixing them up before shuffling.) As the camera goes from behind Worm to behind the dealer, the cards go from "washing" to shuffling as the camera angles change.
