Violence & Gore

  • A man is abusive to his wife. He beats her (off screen) and later she is seen with a bruise around her is. Later in the film, he punches his wife, knocking out her tooth causing her mouth to become bloody; then he puts his hands around her neck and begins to strangle her in front of a child.
  • A mother becomes abusive to her daughters. She slaps here eldest daughter across the face and beats her with a hair brush. In a later scene, the mother pushes her eldest daughter into a chair and then urges her to stand up again and then slaps her across the face; the daughter then slaps her mother back.
  • The mother is more abusive to her youngest daughter; she hits her youngest daughter on the forehead with mug, knocking her of the kitchen chair. The mother gets into a violent temper in a later scene when she smashes a plate and picks her youngest daughter by the ear and pushers her onto the bed where she brutally beats her with a belt. Blood is visible.
  • The mother hits her son on the back of the head.

Profanity

  • Brief uses of the words "bastard", "damn" and "tramp".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The lead character of the film is an alcoholic and is often seen drinking. She also smokes a lot of cigarettes. The lead character's husband is also an alcoholic.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is a lot of violence in the film. A woman being beaten and the violent abuse of two young girls all of which is under the consumption of alcohol.
