Back on November 23 we reported that Fringe star Joshua Jackson was set to star in an adaptation of UK television producer Gerry Anderson's 1970 live action series, UFO. Jackson would star as Col. Paul Foster, played by Michael Billington in the original series. Today we're learning from the website Forbidden Planet that Heroes star Ali Larter is being sought to take on the role of Col. Virginia Lake, who was played in the original series by actress Wanda Ventham.
In a new interview with Forbidden Planet, the adaptation's director, Matthew Gratzner, discusses the new film in some detail, and also talks about his desire to see Larter — who is currently the frontrunner for the role — in the project.
"We've talked to Ali Larter, who's very interested," he said. "I've actually met with her, and I think she would be a great addition to the picture. Lake is very strong and obviously also very feminine, …

The Men In Black star, who will present the Nobel Peace Prize with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith at an Oslo ceremony tonight, said that he has vowed to behave himself on stage in front of winner Barack Obama. Josh Brolin has been a busy man, and he could be getting a whole lot busier pretty soon taking on the responsibility of keeping us safe from illegal extraterrestrial aliens in New York city.
There are reports coming in that the "No Country For Old Men" star may being taking on the charcter of "Agent K" in the next installment of the "Men in Black" franchise. Agent K was played by Tommy Lee Jones in the first two films, which means Brolin could just be playing a new Agent K, or the possibility exists that he could be portraying a younger version of Agent K. Maybe he'll be a clone... maybe he'll be a time traveler. Who knows?
According to reports Will Smith is already signed on to reprise his role as Agent J and director Barrry Sonnenfeld should once again be behind the camera.
Question: What would you think …

A short while ago we reported that Sony wanted to continue their Men In Black series with a third installment that would bring back at the very least Will Smith as the incomparable Agent J. Now we are getting more info on the return of Agent K but playing him may not be who you think.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Josh Brolin may be heading to Columbia Pictures’ Men in Black 3:
“His exact part is a matter of discussion, but in recent days there’s been chatter in Hollywood development circles of a few possibilities: He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K passing the baton to Brolin’s character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely.”
Will Smith is set to return for the third installment, written by Etan Cohen. No word …

There were rumors well over a year ago that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were interested in suiting up and doing another Men In Black movie. Then, back in April of this year, it was revealed at the Sony ShoWest presentation that the studio was developing a script for Men In Black 3.
A few months later, it was revealed that a writer had been found to pen the script for MIB3: Etan Cohen. Cohen co-wrote Tropic Thunder as well as King of the Hill and Beavis and Butt-Head (he’s not to be confused with Ethan Coen, one half of the famous Coen brothers). However, there was still no deal put in place officially for Smith and Jones to return, but as stated, they’ve both shown interest. Now we have learned of another actor possiblyo joining the cast, none other than No Country for Old Men star, …

Josh Brolin may become a Man in Black. The Oscar-nominated actor is being rumored for a role in Men in Black 3 alongside franchise favorite Will Smith. It’s not immediately clear whether Tommy Lee Jones will join them though.
The La Times’ Hero Complex reports Brolin is “being considered” for the role of Agent K, the part played by Jones in the first two installments of the science fiction comedy series. The “chatter” isn’t clear whether Tlj will be passing the torch to Brolin and retiring from the secret government agency (again), or if Brolin is set to play K as a young man in Miiib.
Smith is definitely set to return, though no timetable was given as to when the cast and production schedule would be finalized. Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) is writing the script. Sony has yet to greenlight the movie, even though the first two made over $1 billion worldwide. …

Can Will Smith manage to fit Men in Black 3 into his busy schedule, or will we have to settle for some new recruits in the third installment? That's the big question on everyone's minds today as The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Josh Brolin is circling a leading role in the other-worldly sequel. Just who exactly he'd be playing is up for discussion, though, since a number of different possibilities are being tossed around – including a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones' character Agent K, to a new recruit replacement of Agent K. And though it's not mentioned, I wouldn't mind seeing Brolin in the role of villain, too. The good news for Smith fans is that THR says the actor is expected to return, though there's currently no word on when production on the film would begin...

Whereas Men in Black ended on a great note, the sequel kind of felt shoehorned and needless. But since the sequel is already out there, there can’t be any harm in making a third film, right? At least that helps me sleep at night. Production on Men in Black 3 is already beginning for a potential 2011 release. While Will Smith has expressed interest in returning, the La Times is now reporting that Josh Brolin is being considered for a part in the film. There are a few possible rumors mentioned: Agent K (the Tommy Lee Jones character) as a younger man, Agent K’s successor, or something else entirely. Not much else is known about the film besides the fact that Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) is writing the script. Brolin’s career arc is kind of strange. He has been around for over twenty years but gets better with age, …

The hugely successful series, which follows the adventures of alien immigration officers, first hit the big screen in 1997 and was followed by a hit 2002 sequel, Men in Black II.
The franchise is being resurrected for a third movie by Tropic Thunder screenwriter Etan Cohen, and Hollywood superstar Smith is expected to reprise his role as Agent J.
Brolin is now said to be in negotiations to join the cast, amid rumours he will replace Smith's former onscreen partner Tommy Lee Jones, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Busy actor Josh Brolin is being considered for an unspecified role in "Men in Black 3." His exact part is a matter of discussion, but in recent days there's been chatter in Hollywood development circles of a few possibilities: He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely.Whatever the part, Brolin could be playing against some star power: Will Smith is expected to return in the new "Mib" as Agent J. This last part is probably the most crucial. Sony is currently contemplating a production start for the picture in 2010 (though it has yet to be greenlit). "Mib 3" doesn't have a go ahead yet, and that's obviously 100 percent dependent on whether or not the Fresh Prince will return. Well, I for one could probably …

Josh Brolin isn't starring in "Cowboys & Aliens," but the "Jonah Hex" star is nonetheless rumored to be squaring off against extraterrestrials in the "Men in Black" franchise.
According to Hero Complex, Brolin might be up for a role in "Men in Black III," the recently announced third installment in the alien-centric franchise. While the exact details of Brolin's would-be character are currently unknown, there are already a few rumored choices as to who he might play.
"He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character," reports the article. "Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely."
There would be no small amount of irony in Brolin taking over the role of Agent K from Tommy Lee Jones, as the two starred alongside one another in "No Country For Old Men," despite sharing …

Our favourite Goonie appears to be up for a role in the next Men In Black film. The L.A. Times is running a story that Josh Brolin is being considered for a starring role in Men In Black 3, a film that will hopefully improve on the second installment.
Following his stellar turns in Milk and No Country for Old Men Brolin is carving out a very interesting career in Hollywood, able to take on a variety of roles and make each character memorable and unique.
Quite why he’s orbiting a threequel of a series that failed to make good on the promise of the first film is a little curious. Joining Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith in the last suit he’ll ever wear is an odd choice but he’ll no doubt be a fascinating addition to the team.

Sign me up for this rumor. In fact, if this is right, you can bet your bottom dollar that my arse will be in the theater come the first midnight screening. According to the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex Blog, Josh Brolin is being considered for a lead role in Men in Black 3.
While just about any lead role would make me happy, it looks like there are a few possibilities under consideration. The rumor mill says that Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K might pass the torch over to Brolin as Will Smith's new Agent J partner, or he might play a young Agent K, or be someone else entirely. The project already has a writer and (tentative) director, but it has yet to get the full green light ... but how can it not if Brolin signs on?
While Brolin is a very talented actor, there is nothing …

Josh Brolin is on fire. No, not literally – but in terms of star power, the man is flaming hot right now. It has been a long steady climb for the No Country For Old Men star, and for many of us, he’ll always be Brand from The Goonies. After a series of excellent supporting roles Brolin is now considered leading man material.
The L.A. Times are currently rumour-mongering Brolin is in line for a part in Men in Black 3. Yes, that’s correct. Question, is: who’s he replacing? Could it be Tommy Lee Jones? One suspects it is not going to be Will Smith. Perhaps Jones has had enough of the franchise after two movies and is paving the way for Brolin.
A script is currently being developed by Etan Cohen and Sony are wooing Barry Sonnenfield to return to the director’s chair. It’s a busy year ahead for Brolin, …

Evidently, Josh Brolin could be turning his duster and facial scars from Jonah Hex in for a black suit and some shades if what the La Times is reporting has any validation to it. They are reporting the Academy Award nominee is being considered for a role in the third Men In Black film, one that would make him a member of the team.
Who, exactly, Brolin will be playing is being kept under wraps, though rumors are coming out that he could be a new member of the duo joining Tommy Lee Jones’ K and Will Smith’s J. There are also rumors that Brolin could be playing Jones’ K as a younger man.
Personally, what I would like to see, is Jones and Brolin team up to take on an alien that looks like Javier Bardem. I’m sure that’s not what screenwriter Etan Cohen (Cohen? Hmmm? …

Sony wants to get back in the Men in Black business because it turns out Sony likes money. We don't know that Will Smith will be returning for MIB3, but if you were playing the odds, that'd be the safe bet. Tommy Lee Jones would also be back in theory, and here's where it gets interesting: Josh Brolin is now rumored to be joining the cast.
The Los Angeles Times says that Brolin's role is still up in the air: "He could play a new single-monikered government agent, with Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K passing the baton to Brolin's character. Or he could play Agent K as a young man. Or something else entirely." …

Men in Black III is happening but let.s face it, Tommy Lee Jones is kind of getting too old for this shit. So it makes sense that for the third installment they might start grooming his replacement. The La Times says that replacement could be Josh Brolin. According to their sources Brolin is being considered for a role in the new Men in Black though the exact nature of that role has been kept under wraps. Gossip has Tommy Lee Jones. Agent K passing the baton to Brolin.s character. What if Tommy Lee took over Rip Torn.s supervisor role while Brolin rode with Will Smith? That could work. Right now though, it.s all speculation. He could just as easily be in talks for some more minor part, for instance playing Agent K as a younger man or a villain or maybe simply providing the voice of …
