Have you ever felt 'betrayed' by an actor?

10 November 2009 8:30 AM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

In a new W magazine cover story interview, Demi Moore speaks candidly about her position in Hollywood (which is currently on the indie scene, see: a role opposite Parker Posey in the upcoming Happy Tears). She also talks about her decision to "step back" and semi-retire to Idaho after starring in and producing G.I. Jane. "I think G.I. Jane got hit because I was paid $12 million to do Striptease,” Moore says. “In a sense, Striptease was a film where women felt I betrayed them. G.I. Jane is a film where men felt I betrayed them. The focus went on that paycheck. »

'Eclipse' Actress' Site Gets Hacked, U2 And More Halloween Costumes In Today's Twitter-Wood

26 October 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

"Eclipse" actress Jodelle Ferland claims that hackers descended on her website, which would explain the disarray currently on display if you visit Jodelle-Ferland.net. Her "Twilight" series costar Ashley Greene seemed to be having a much better weekend, however, taking in the U2 concert at the Rose Bowl Sunday night. Greene was joined by Danny DeVito, Demi Moore, and a host of others who tweeted pictures from the night.

Elsewhere, Tom Felton and Emmy Rossum are still undecided on their Halloween costumes, but Felton has officially nixed a Dalmation outfit and Rossum may be warming up to Pippi Longstocking. Check out what they had to say after the jump along with Edward Norton doing yoga, Billy Burke's "Harry Potter" shout-out and Stephen Fry's new secret video game role. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for October 26, 2009.

Elizabeth Taylor's Heart Surgery, Brett Favre And 'A Serious Man' In Today's Twitter-Wood

6 October 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Elizabeth Taylor actually broke some news about herself on Twitter this afternoon, as it appears the Hollywood legend and Twitter-Wood citizen is having an operation performed on her heart. Rose McGowan was among the first to send good vibes out to her, and I definitely echo those sentiments, as her performance in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" is among my all-time favorites.

In less dangerous news, Kim Kardashian added her name to Twitter-Wood's list of Halloween costume commitments for the year, announcing that she'll be going to at least one event as Jasmine from "Aladdin." Check out all the details, along with Shaq's take on Brett Favre, Richard Kelly's plea for help understanding "A Serious Man" and Peter Facinelli's behind-the-scenes shot from "Nurse Jackie." They're all in the Twitter-Wood report for October 6, 2009.

Taylor Swift Support, Kanye Condemnations And The Chicago Bears In Today's Twitter-Wood

14 September 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Editor's note: There were apparently some technical difficulties last night, as Twitter-Wood never ran. So in lieu of today's Daily TwitPic, here's a special morning edition of Twitter-Wood for 9/14/09.

The Vma's trended nearly as well in the Twitter-Wood feed last night as they did on Twitter, and if you've had any internet access over the last 24 hours you probably know that a lot of that was provoked by Kanye West's unexpected interruption during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. Elizabeth Banks, Kat Dennings, John Stamos and others contributed to the online conversation that followed, expressing their thoughts on his interjection.

Football was pretty popular last night as well, and if you didn't know that Ashton Kutcher was a Bears fan, you do now, thanks to Demi Moore's photo tweet of her defeated fan-husband after the Green Bay Packers stuck it to Chicago in the fourth quarter. Check out all of those posts, »

The Demi-Ashton Ratio, 'Toy Story' And David Allan Coe In Today's Twitter-Wood

24 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Could observations about the relationship between Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore reveal your key financial prosperity? Well, at least one CNBC analyst thinks they might, and the happy couple was amused enough to tweet their reactions today in the Twitter-Wood feed.

The feed experienced an image-heavy weekend of tweets -- enough that selecting a Twitter Pic of the Day was not a cut-and-dry decision this afternoon. In the end, I chose a shot that country music fans will appreciate and everyone else in the free world will at least experience bewilderment at. It's a candid photo from Vegas that Penn Jillette recently caught with singer David Allan Coe. Its creepy second-placing challenger was a piece of fan art someone put together for Rose McGowan. In the old days fans depended on pencils and crayons; now, they have 3-D rendering software. Feast your eyes below, because it's all in the Twitter-Wood »

Demi Moore invited to do 'Woman vs. Wild' with Bear Grylls

12 August 2009 3:18 PM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Twitter deals. You gotta love 'em. After the ratings success of his Men vs. Wild special with Will Ferrell, Bear Grylls, host of Discovery's Man vs. Wild (which returns tonight at 9 p.m. Et, with Bear peeing on his skis for traction in the Arctic Circle), just reached out to Demi Moore on Twitter asking if she'd be interested in chatting about doing a Woman vs. Wild special. (Does this mean Jennifer Lopez passed?) Grylls, who's already convinced Ben Stiller to be a future guest on the survival show, doesn't tweet that often, so he forgot to include her @MrsKutcher address. Fortunately, a Man vs. Wild fan tweeted Moore, telling her she should do it. She responded back, "Did he ask me?" And Grylls sent a follow-up. Let's make this deal happen! Wouldn't you love to see Demi Moore stranded in the wild with Bear and his crew — and without access to Twitter — for 48 hours? »

'Twilight' Actors Without Accounts And A 'Harry Potter' Star Who May Get One In Today's Twitter-Wood

12 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

From the first days of Twitter, fake accounts have been popping up on a weekly basis -- particularly for "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" actors. Peter Facinelli tweeted out loud and clear today that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart don't have Twitter names. Meanwhile, Tom Felton announced that following his success recruiting Warwick Davis, he may be close to convincing Daniel Radcliffe to come aboard.

There's plenty of room on the Internet for all of them if they make the move, but the Twitter-Wood feed's getting more and more crowded by the day. Virginia Madsen today became our first video poster of note, with a quick clip just off the set of what I'm assuming is "Father of Invention." Elsewhere, Demi Moore demonstrated once again what a valuable tool Twitter is for glimpsing into her marriage life with Ashton Kutcher. You can click down to check out all of those and »

Kelly Clarkson Shoots Back at Weight Critics

Over the past few months, Kelly Clarkson's weight has been a hot topic for critical bloggers. But the outspoken singer - who has said "Of course celebrities have cellulite!" - doesn't let the body bullies get her down. "When people talk about my weight, I'm like, 'You seem to have a problem with it; I don't. I'm fine!'," Clarkson, 27, tells the September issue of Self. She also notes, "My happy weight changes. Sometimes I eat more; sometimes I play more." These days, the play part means golf ("I love it!") as well as Crossfit workouts. "It's like bootcamp! »

John Hughes Twitter-Wood Report: Favorite Films And Thanks From Rainn Wilson, Eliza Dushku And Others

6 August 2009 5:14 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Few directors produce a body of work that syncs with a decade as well as John Hughes' work did with the 1980s. From "Sixteen Candles" to "Ferris Bueller's " and "The Breakfast Club," he gave everyone who ever lived through high school someone to relate to. His power wasn't lost on on filmgoers or today's filmmakers, both of whom inhabit the Twitter-Wood follow list.

Filmmakers including Kevin Smith and Diablo Cody, who both picked up the plight of the high school misanthrope from Hughes, as well as other stars like Rainn Wilson and Eliza Dushku tweeted in with their memories of Hughes' movies this afternoon, and many of them recalled what it was like come to his movies in the middle of the same kinds of real-life melodramas that he tackled.

Film: Review:a Perfect Getaway

6 August 2009 12:04 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

David Twohy is a veteran of Hollywood genre fare, having tried his hand as screenwriter or writer-director on thrillers of all stripes—on land (The Fugitive, G.I. Jane), by sea (Below, Waterworld), and from outer space (Pitch Black, The Chronicles Of Riddick, The Arrival). He rarely does more than deliver on expectations, but he knows the conventions of genre material enough to exploit them to clever effect. Twohy’s latest effort, A Perfect Getaway, is akin to a magician doing a trick with all the cards face up, asking the audience to trust what they see while he pulls »

Rose McGowan’s New Dog And ‘Twilight’ Actor Peter Facinelli In A Bikini In Today’s Twitter-Wood

30 June 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled 5-0 today that Al Franken won last year’s Senate election, and it didn’t take long for responses to start popping up in the Twitter-Wood feed, including reactions from Larry King and Graham Linehan. Magician and quick-witted thinker Penn Jillette also brought politics into his tweets, pointing out the relevance of his film “The Aristocrats” in a recent Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision.

The conversations weren’t all political though. Rose McGowan showed off a shot a of the new dog she adopted and Demi Moore posted her own puppy shot of Ashton Kutcher rolling around on the set of his new movie “Five Killers.” Meanwhile, “Twilight” actor Peter Facinelli was just innocently trying on a bikini and Russell Brand kept to what he does best, lacing an apology to his neglected Twitter followers with dog-and-leg-humping imagery. Jeff Goldblum Death Rumors And Draco Malfoy In Today’s Twitter-Wood

26 June 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Update: Check out our Jeff Goldblum photo gallery for some great shots of the actor throughout his career!

The last 24 hours have been about a week long in Twitter-Wood. After two unplanned updates with reactions to Michael Jackson’s death, I’m back with some regularly scheduled programming.

First off, the best news of the last day is that Jeff Goldblum is not dead. Kevin Spacey set the record straight on his Twitter account, and several others reacted as that rumor brushfire was extinguished. We’ve also got Tom Felton continuing his commentary behind the scenes at “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows,” Mandy Moore looking for someone to play “Battletech” with, and much more after the click.

@jonhurwitz As surreal as this day is for everyone else, I bet it’s extra surreal for Jeff Goldblum.

Mere hours after Michael Jackson’s death in Los Angeles, nearly everyone in the Twitter-Wood feed has already logged on to tweet their reactions to the loss of the King of Pop. While details surrounding this evening’s events are still coming to light, I wanted to assemble a special report that demonstrates how big of a role his contributions from “Thriller” to “Captain Eo” have played in the popular culture we all share.

Below are the sincere thoughts and responses to today’s news as tweeted by “Twilight” cast members, directors, and other Hollywood luminaries, including Mandy Moore, John Cusack, Miley Cyrus and many, many others.

Ed McMahon Reactions, ‘Transformers 2′ And Ice-t On Perez Hilton In Today’s Twitter-Wood

The death of Ed McMahon, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and Perez Hilton’s scuffle with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am dominated Twitter’s trending topics today, and the Twitter-Wood feed is on the case. Ashton Kutcher, Jon Favreau and plenty of others tweeted condolences to Johnny Carson’s former “Tonight Show” announcer, who died today in Los Angeles.

Tweets on the latter two categories have been significantly more mixed in their sentiments, but “Revenge of the Fallen” star Tyrese Gibson maintained his Twitter vigil that’s been documenting his recent film-related travels. Meanwhile, Ice-t chimed in with some public advice to Hilton. You can check out all of those tweets, our second celeb camera phone pic of the Mona Lisa, and much more below in the Twitter-Wood report for June 23, 2009.

David Twohy’s A Perfect Getaway Trailer Starring Milla Jovovich and Timothy Olyphant

28 May 2009 11:41 AM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

David Twohy is best known as the director of the Vin Diesel flick Pitch Black and its sequel, The Chronicles of Riddick, but he's also been been writing screenplays for years prior to that (some of his credits include The Fugitive, Waterworld and G.I. Jane). Clearly he knows more than just action and sci-fi (although he probably could have been on last week's poll [1]), and his new movie A Perfect Getaway is simply more evidence of that fact. The movie is a thriller about two couples who meet up during a tropical vacation in Hawaii, where they soon find that tourists are being stalked and killed. Milla Jovovich, Steve Zahn, Timothy Olyphant and Chris Hemsworth (yes, Thor himself [2]) star, and although there have been a handful of horror movies in this kind of setting lately (Turistas, The Ruins), it seems like the trailer may be hiding a twist or two. »

Tweet Of The Day: Demi Moore's Happy to be Gappy

Demi Moore is not shy when it comes to taking it off! From chopping her hair off for the film G.I. Jane to appearing bare on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1995, Demi has never been bashful about showing the public that less is Moore. What's she going to remove next? Her teeth!  Demi snapped a photo of herself missing a front tooth at the dentist's office and posted it on twitter for the public to see. This is apparently Moore's way of feeling young again. The 6 Toughest Movie Heroines! (of all time)

11 May 2009 10:41 AM, PDT | FilmShaft.com | See recent FilmShaft.com news »

We’ve all seen Bruce Willis shoot shit up in Die Hard; we’ve all seen Daniel Craig breaking someone’s nose as James Bond. But what about the movie heroine? This breed of saviour is unfortunately far, far rarer than the male heroes of Hollywood, despite this however; there are without a doubt a select few who could kick the crap out of Mike Tyson, let alone some shabby super villain.

So check it out below, a list of my top 6 movie heroines:

#06 – Officer Anne Lewis (Robocop, Robocop 2, Robocop 3)

If I ever dial 999 (or 911 stateside) I’d want to see Officer Lewis at my door, chewing gum and ready to kick some major ass.

Lewis is seen by many as sidekick to Paul Verhoeven’s cyberpunk creation Robocop, but let’s examine that relationship for a minute. It’s Anne who gives the cold thinking cyborg his humanity back, »
