According to the DVD documentary, the first cut of the film had a longer "Visions from Hell" sequence, more blood, and a different, though similar, ending. The test audience didn't like it, so it was re-cut with an alternate ending involving what director Paul W.S. Anderson called "The Burning Man Sequence." The second test audience didn't like that version, and the film was edited again. The final cut is a less-intense hybrid of both test screenings, with significantly less gore. more
Revealing mistakes: Near the end, when Cooper watches the "blood" flowing above the ceiling lights, the front of the flow does not change shape at all and also, just before the camera changes, briefly jumps backwards, revealing it to be a computer effect. more
Rescue 1 Technician:
It's all right. It's all right. They're with us. They're with us.

A team of rescue technicians is sent to investigate the reappearance of a spaceship called the Event Horizon, which mysteriously vanished several years ago. Not long after the team is on board the ship, they start having spooky experiences ... which seem to be caused by the ship itself, which now seems to be "alive."
This is an intense, and highly unsettling adult combo of science-fiction and horror, and it's full of some incredibly gruesome imagery. The cast is top-notch and the film is paced reasonably well.
I have to say, I am disappointed that at first this film looks basically like just another rehash of Alien. It gets better, though. It isn't always easy to understand, but there have been films with worse scripts than this.
I give this seven out of ten.
