One of Star Wars’ most revered villains from its pre-Disney days of prequel-era stories is poised for a comeback. Durge, the fearsome bounty hunter best known from Genndy Tartakovsky’s 2003-2005 Star Wars: Clone Wars microseries, is set to make his Disney canon debut in the pages of Marvel’s Doctor Aphra #11. And with the upcoming arrival of Tartakovsky’s non-canon Clone Wars series on Disney+, it’s enough to make one speculate that bigger—live-action—plans might be in store for the character.
Durge was indeed immensely popular in the defunct Legends continuity of Star Wars in the early 2000s to the point that Matthew Stover’s 2005 novelization of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith makes direct reference to the character among other notable shout-outs to the events of Tartakovsky’s series. He was one of the most visible characters during Lucasfilm’s onslaught of merchandising during the mid-prequel era,...

Feud: Bette and Joan has reached its boiling point...sending one of its leading ladies into the hospital. "Abandoned!" continued to tell the tale of Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford's (Jessica Lange) failed attempt at working together again on Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte, and believe us when you say you can't make this stuff up. We know, because we fact-checked all the hospital visits, on-set meltdowns, marriages and shocking recasting that went down in the April 16 episode, and it's pretty accurate, making the drama all the more juicy. But there were a few falsities in the outing, so we're sorting fact vs. fiction... Fact: When Bette asked...

Ryan Murphy’s new FX series Feud chronicles the bitter rivalry between screen legends Bette Davis and Joan Crawford as they film Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, but the tension between the actresses actually started long before they filmed their 1962 thriller.
Their decades-long feud — which is dissected in the upcoming issue of People — stemmed from their very early days as they navigated the brutal Hollywood system.
The 1930s
When Davis moved from Broadway to Hollywood in 1930 at age 22, a then-25-year-old Crawford was already a sought-after star. Davis was the first to win an Oscar (for 1935’s Dangerous) but lost...

Hell hath no fury like two Hollywood actresses scorned!
That's the exact premise behind season one of FX's newest anthology series, Feud: Bette and Joan, which premieres this Sunday, March 5. The limited series, which heralds from the mind of executive producer Ryan Murphy, stars A-list actresses Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon as Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, respectively, and fixates on the bitter, lifelong rivalry between them.
But before you tune in, we've crafted the ultimate Feud cheat sheet to break down all the real-life drama!

Who Is Joan Crawford? Born Lucille Fay LeSueur in 1904, Crawford (Lange) became one of Hollywood's most prominent movie stars and one of the highest paid women in the United States during the late 1920s and early 1930s. However, by the end of the 1930s, her films began losing money and she was labeled "Box Office Poison." She made...

a must readAs you've surely heard by now, since it's one of the most striking actressy announcements in some time, Ryan Murphy's next anthology series will be called "Feud" and for its first season the subject is the über showbiz catfight: Bette Davis vs. Joan Crawford. Bette & Joan's famous loathing for each other was not confined to just the horror classic Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) but the series will be confined there since that set is the natural place to dramatize. It was the only film the two combative actresses made together. After the success of Baby Jane, Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964) was intended as a reunion but ultimately Olivia de Havilland (who had her own legendary feud with sister Joan Fontaine) took Crawford's place.
Since Ryan Murphy can't live without Jessica Lange he's cast her as Joan Crawford. It's a terrible call because their screen personas are antithetical.

Joan Crawford Movie Star Joan Crawford movies on TCM: Underrated actress, top star in several of her greatest roles If there was ever a professional who was utterly, completely, wholeheartedly dedicated to her work, Joan Crawford was it. Ambitious, driven, talented, smart, obsessive, calculating, she had whatever it took – and more – to reach the top and stay there. Nearly four decades after her death, Crawford, the star to end all stars, remains one of the iconic performers of the 20th century. Deservedly so, once you choose to bypass the Mommie Dearest inanity and focus on her film work. From the get-go, she was a capable actress; look for the hard-to-find silents The Understanding Heart (1927) and The Taxi Dancer (1927), and check her out in the more easily accessible The Unknown (1927) and Our Dancing Daughters (1928). By the early '30s, Joan Crawford had become a first-rate film actress, far more naturalistic than...

Jessica Lange is now the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty line at 64, photographed by David Sims below. (Take that previously daring Lancôme with Isabella Rossellini as their international spokesface until she was in her dotage at 44).
What a second act Jess's career! After a very long rough stretch (approximately 1996-2008 which saw the likes of Hush and Bonneville and a couple of barely released movies) she's really on top of it all again... except the movies. What can we trace the revival back to? Many of you would shout "Grey Gardens!" from 2009, but I think the secret might be her honorary place in David O. Russell's I ♥ Huckabees with its Jessica Lange photo fetish.
Is it a crime? Is it a crime to look at Lange?!
Question: If she made Titus (1999) or Big Fish (2003) now, and gave the exact same performance she gave then, post career resurgence, do you...

J.S. Cardones 2001 bloodsucker tale The Forsaken has a few really good things going for it. Actor Johnathon Schaech (remember that really disturbing mommyson flick Hush Well this is son) makes for a nasty villain who plays up vampirism with conviction there are a few scenes that showcase some pretty gnarly practical special effects and Steven Bernstein is a very very seasoned and skilled Dp. The bad news is for every quality the picture offers theres a major deterrent floating in the foreground easily detectable by most and near impossible to miss...

Who will advance to the final round? The decision…is up to you.

The Case: Many of you probably wouldn't be surprised to learn that I've got absolutely no tolerance for Gwyneth Paltrow, who became an inexplicably successful A-list actress primarily due to nepotism (as well as strategically dating Brad Pitt). Yet, I didn't always feel this way about her, for I actually liked Gwyneth during her early career after randomly catching Flesh and Bone at a dollar theater and finding her relatively enigmatic next to Pitt during Se7en. She also did well to make herself the focus of fairly small movies like Moonlight and Valentino and Hush (despite the latter's horrid script), and she held her own against Michael Douglas in the lukewarm A Perfect Murder. However, I never...

Let's get the obvious out of the way right now, shall we? This movie has an awful title: Hush, ugh. Not only is it vague, generic, and instantly forgettable, but it's been used numerous times (as recently as 1998, if you can remember that Jessica Lange one!) And it has practically nothing to do with the movie at hand. Although saddled with a ridiculously silly moniker, the British import known as Hush (ugh) is a not-half-bad roadway thriller that seems to be emulating everything from The Hitcher, Duel, and Road Games. In other words, if you've ever seen an "all in one night" thriller in which a dangerous person and an innocent rube play cat and mouse on the tough asphalt of America's isolated highways ......

Why should you buy the soundtracks of Christopher Young? Well, for instance the music is quite good on some of them. And if you want to have more fun with the release, check out the tracklisting. You're bound to find somehing along the lines of "Accelerated Brundle Disease" or "Dancing With a Wet Handkerchief on Your Mother's Grave". But wait, there's more! The CD of Hush for intance contains the following titles: "Hush", "Little Baby", "Don't You Cry", "Mama's Gonna Buy", "You", "A". It's all fun. If you pay close attention, you might also find that several Young releases contain pun homages to famous composers as well. Below I've gathered all I could find, now it's up to you to guess which composers are referenced in the track titles. I might add that some of them are only guesses and I couldn't find references some of Young's biggest works...
