Exclusive: 'Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths' Preview!

30 September 2009 10:51 AM, PDT | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Yesterday, I gave you the full breakdown on the "Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths" featurette that appeared on the DVD for DC's "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" animated movie. Not only did we get our first look at Ultraman, Power Ring and the rest of the Jla's alternate-universe counterparts, The Crime Syndicate, but we also found out about the origins of the next animated feature from the DC Universe.

However, since my recap and the shoddy-at-best images I posted only go so far, here's an exclusive video preview of "Crisis On Two Earths," courtesy of the good folks at DC and Warner Bros. Premiere. I'm pretty sure you'll agree that it's even better than I described it—and that James Woods makes a pretty terrifying Owlman.

So, tell me, folks—was that Justice League Detroit we caught a glimpse of there? Read on for the full specs on "Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths, »

DC Announces ‘Crisis of Two Earths’ Animated Film

16 September 2009 4:15 PM, PDT | The Flickcast | See recent The Flickcast news »

Though the announcement of DC Entertainment last week has turned a few heads in the world of comics and film, the plan for DC’s animated DVD features has stayed strong since the first release of Superman: Doomsday back in 2007. It looks like the next film for DC’s animation department looks to be taking a different direction, as they take on a Crisis on Multiple Earths storyline.

The next film in the works is based on the Jeph Loeb Superman/Batman: Public Enemies story arc, which hits DVD shelves September 29th. On the DVD is a special feature showing the details of Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. From a Warner Bros. press release:

Warner Home Video will distribute in Spring 2010 (finalizing date soon)

An original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne

McDuffie (Justice League) rooted in DC Comics’ popular canon of

“Crisis” stories.

Comics: Crisis Coming to DVD

16 September 2009 1:42 PM, PDT | doorQ.com | See recent doorQ.com news »

Have you caught the various DC Animated Movies, like Wonder Woman, Superman / Doomsday or the upcoming Superman / Batman: Public Enemies? They're all awesome little animated films, filling the void left when Justice League Unlimited went off the air.

(Jlu was one of my faves. So is Jl... but Cartoon Network never seems to re-run those. Bastards.)

Warner Home Video has announced the latest in this very lucrative direct-to-video franchise: Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths.  Stealing a page from the comic book Crisis On Infinite Earths saga, Two Earths is set to depict the battle between our Earth's Jla and the Crime Syndicate from a parallel version.

In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a “good” Lex Luthor arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. »

First Images From 'Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths' Hit The 'Net

16 September 2009 5:29 AM, PDT | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Back in August, advanced box art for this month's "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies," teased another upcoming DC Comics feature "Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths"—a title with far-reaching fan implications.

Now, it seems Warner Bros. is ready to shed additional light on the project, with new screens featuring a "good" Lex Luthor, a fully stocked Jla and Batman's alternate-universe doppelganger, Owlman.

Written by Justice League alumni Dwayne McDuffie and Bruce Timm serving as executive producer, the feature borrows themes from DC's "Crisis On Infinite Earths" and Grant Morrison's "Jla: Earth 2" storylines with a heroic version of Lex Luthor traveling from a parallel Earth to enlist the aid of the Justice League in thwarting their evil counterparts, The Crime Syndicate. Owlman stands out as the most notable foe, apparently putting "the balance of all existence in peril" according to Warner Bros.

The Dcau Justice League returns in 'Crisis on Two Earths': Updated

15 September 2009 8:50 PM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

Ain't It Cool News is reporting that the next direct-to-dvd DC Comics movie after the upcoming Superman/Batman: Public Enemies will be a new release titled Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, tentatively coming Spring 2010.

As you can glean from the title, it takes place on two different planet Earths: one protected by the Justice League, and one ruled over by the evil Crime Syndicate. When a heroic version of Lex Luthor steps over from that parallel Earth to ask the Justice League for help, a superhero fight breaks out. That last part is merely conjecture, but we'd put good money on it.

What we do know for sure is that Dwayne McDuffie, who masterminded the original Justice League cartoon and its Unlimited followup, will be writing the script, and that it'll feature an all-star voice cast, including Gina Torres (Firefly) as Wonder Woman's doppelganger Super Woman and James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi, »
