A film about a young girl, Julia Neuland (Brittany Murphy), falling in love with the idealistic view of an older man in a uniform, John Dubroski (Joe Penny). When Julia falls pregnant after the couple's three year affair, John reveals he has been married all along and does not want to leave his wife. The story shows the life of Julia, who refused an abortion, as a young mother trying her hardest to raise this baby alone. Paternity battles begin as John refuses to accept he is the father. But four days before the hearing, Julia is found dead in a park, and John, the town's highly respected police officer, is the main suspect.
