For every DC fan who has been introduced to Batman, his foes, and Gotham City via Batman: The Animated Series, Mark Hamill will always be the preferred Joker. Although the actor is famously known for his onscreen performance as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, fans still believe his way of striking the essential balance between crazy and scary was beyond comparison.
Mark Hamill in Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017)
There’s no denying that Mark Hamill delivered an indomitable performance in the Star Wars franchise, but he will always prevail on top, for being the greatest voice for the Joker. And after Hamill’s interview during the Star Wars Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2014, fans have found even more ways to prove that the actor’s greatest role was hands down, Joker.
Why Mark Hamill’s Role as Joker is Considered His Best Performance?...

After Henry Cavill, David Corenswet is all ready to take over Superman’s mantle and the expectations are obviously quite high. While James Gunn’s fans have completely put their faith in the DC Studios’ co-ceo and filmmaker, there are some who are doubtful of his every move. Recently, James Gunn surprised the Netizens by revealing the first full look of David Corenswet’s Superman.

Naturally, the Internet was divided and had varying opinions on the suit. Keeping the opinions aside, we cannot help but notice a similarity between the new Superman’s first look and All-Star Superman’s iconic image that has a great story behind it. Of course, it helps the case that James Gunn’s Superman is kind of inspired by All-Star Superman.

Ever since X-Men ’97 was revived by Marvel Studios, the superhero landscape has entered into a pseudo-nostalgic era, where audiences have begun to reminisce about the good old days, when animated series were the go-to format for good superhero fiction. Almost immediately, there was a demand to bring back other animated series, not just from Marvel, but other studios that had previously produced great superhero content like Batman Beyond.

After delivering the definitive Batman with Batman: The Animated Series, Bruce Timm joined forces with Alan Burnett to give the other member of the World’s Finest a similar treatment. Voiced by Tim Daly, Superman: The Animated Series made its debut in 1996, and is often considered the definitive onscreen portrayal of the character, only next to Christopher Reeve.
But despite its success, Daly wasn’t brought back to voice Clark Kent in Justice League Unlimited, and The Sopranos star had a pretty good idea about why it was the case.

Bruce Timm’s pioneering work with DC’s animated shows is a shining example of adaptations done correctly. While TV shows and movies are the main source of entertainment today, back then people were heavily into comic books. Adapting from that material is hard as it is, but keeping it fun for an audience who already knows the direction where your show is going can be even more difficult. And some fans love to spoil those who are new to the genre, flaunting their knowledge.

Superman, the beloved Kryptonian superhero from the DC Universe, has been played by multiple actors over the years in numerous different adaptations — both good and not-so-good. And of all the talented masterminds who embodied him, the late Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill are widely regarded as the best ones by far.

Tim Daly was 3 years and 15 days old when his would-be childhood hero George Reeves was found dead of an apparent suicide at age 45. Remakes have become rampant in the film industry but the worst part is most of them lack any sense of originality. Filmmakers are constantly coming up with movies that rely solely on the nostalgia factor in order to bring the audience to the theatres. The ‘Timmverse’ saw a new dimension to characters such as Batman, Superman, and the Justice League, with Batman: The Animated Series being one of the most celebrated shows of all time. On the heels of Batman: The Animated Series, a new Dark Knight saga was born out of the pure desperation of a Warner Bros. studio executive. Now, Batman Beyond has become a classic in its own right, forfeiting not only the iconic origin story but also evolving beyond the limitations of what was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane in the technologically inept era of 1939.

He needed to be respectable enough to the Batman lore while also inventing a completely original story that didn’t sink his reputation and career for daring to do something that no one wanted, i.e. debut a futuristic cyberpunk Batman.

After Batman: The Animated Series, the DC Animated Universe, or Dcau, also gained immense popularity through Superman: The Animated Series. The latter series was also critically acclaimed and gave us one of the best iterations of Clark Kent ever. However, the same cannot be said for Superman’s voice actor Tim Daly.

Despite being highly popular, Tim Daly did not reprise his Clark Kent role in Dcau’s Justice League series. Tim Daly could never rise to the level of Kevin Conroy, who made a massive name for voicing Batman across several DC projects. The Sopranos actor stated in an interview that he would like to reprise his role again and urged his fans to ask for the show’s renewal.

In the world of superheroes and their adversaries, few characters stand as iconic as Superman and his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. However, Tim Daly, who voiced Kal-El in Bruce Timm’s Superman: The Animated Series has shared a special affinity for another DC supervillain, who is often described as an anti-hero and a dark reflection of the Kryptonian superhero, Bizarro.
Superman: The Animated Series
He has made recurring appearances in the DC Animated Universe and has been voiced by numerous actors over the years. Daly also gave his voice to the character in The Animated Series, which offered him an insight into the character. The 67-year-old actor expressed empathy towards the villain, as he fondly recalled his time portraying the complex character.
Tim Daly Shared His Experience Working With Bizarro
Introduced in Superboy #68, Bizarro has been frequently seen as an antagonist clashing with Superman and has taken on the role of an anti-hero as well.

Superman has been one of the most popular superheroes, inspiring numerous adaptations over the years. The renowned figure behind the DC animated franchise, Bruce Timm, also brought his vision of the superhero to life in the successful four-season run of Superman: The Animated Series. Yet, the portrayal diverged notably from previous iterations.
Superman: The Animated Series
To fans, who found the superhero’s depiction less formidable and deviated from established character traits, Timm’s approach to the character seemed to display his dislike for Man of Steel. However, the animation producer later clarified such assumptions, offering insights into the creative decisions shaping the portrayal of the Kryptonian superhero in the series.

There was a time when the animated features and shows were in the hands of Dcau producer and supervisor Bruce Timm, who made some of the most memorable pieces of entertainment in the animation space with characters from DC Comics.
But in his pursuit for greatness, he wasn’t alone, as one of the franchise’s projects, none other than the iconic Teen Titans, was handled by Glen Murakami.

While Timm has been revered in the industry with his breathtaking narrative and animation style, made popular with Batman: The Animated Series, Murakami made a name for himself with Teen Titans, making it one of the best superhero animated shows in history.
But the animations that Murakami managed to achieve by combining comic book art and anime art style in his production was something that even Timm couldn’t do.

Written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, DC Comics Kingdom Come was published in 1996 under the Elseworlds imprint. Alex Ross developed the concept from the original idea and painted the comic book in gouache, which has been appreciated by ardent comic book fans. DC Animated Universe veteran Bruce Timm also appreciates Alex Ross’ concept for the comic book.
Set in an alternate future of the DC Universe, Kingdom Come’s story takes the readers into a time when the Justice League team and the new-generation superheroes are fighting each other to determine the future of the planet. The limited series was reportedly written as an indictment against the growing trend of violent anti-hero archetypes that sprung out in the early 1990s. Bruce Timm explained in detail why the comic book couldn’t be adapted for an animated movie.

Comic books make up the bulk of pop culture literature today. And what makes them special is their gorgeous art that gives wings to our imagination. In the history of DC and Marvel comics, very few artists have gone on to receive legendary status. Alex Ross is definitely one of them, whose works in both industry powerhouses are nothing short of dreams coming to reality.

Batman: The Animated Series is one of the most iconic pieces of television of all time, having laid the foundations for the Dcau as well as revolutionized storytelling in animation. One of the biggest reasons for its success has to be its co-creator, Bruce Timm, who has an innate understanding of the characters he portrays, which also helped him create other beloved projects like Justice League, Batman: Beyond, and Superman: The Animated Series.

The tales and myths of blood-sucking vampires have existed since time immemorial. They have made their way into pop culture, including comics that have their own versions of these legendary monsters. Marvel’s Morbius, the Living Vampire, was its own iteration that combined science and mythic arts, and debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October 1971. Bruce Timm needs no introduction when it comes to the animation industry. The man, the myth, the legend was responsible for creating much of the childhoods of 90s/early 2000s kids whenever they were not at school. His DC creations such as Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League have achieved legendary status over time, and once pushed Cartoon Network’s ratings and viewership to sky-high levels.
John Stewart/ Green Lantern was voiced by Phil Lamarr in Justice League
Apart from the amazing artwork and breathtaking action scenes, these animated adaptations enthralled young minds due to the variety of characters that graced the screen, especially in Justice League and its later installments. Comic book enthusiasts would know that initially, Hal Jordan was the Green Lantern who joined the ranks of the Justice League. But in the show, it was John Stewart who replaced him as the ring-wielding superhero.
