| NOTES |
Special edition director's cut. This transfer, which was approved by the director Roland Emmerich, is better than the original release. The image is a bit darker with a more natural color balance. The colors are almost perfectly saturated and extremely clean. The Dolby Digital on the new disc is also much better. Dolby has slightly modified the encoding process since the first release came out. The notation on the back of the jacket says that the aspect ratio is 1.85 : 1. This is wrong, the movie is correctly transferred at 2.35 : 1. |

| NOTES |
The first pressing had a serious audio problem on side 1. The new pressings have a sticker on the back saying that side 3 is CAV. This is from the formal Dolby announcement: Side one of the widescreen edition of Stargate has an audio problem that becomes apparent when played through Dolby(R) surround decoders. The problem occurred during post production and caused a phase error between the left and right channels. When played back using Dolby(R) surround the phasing problem sends the sounds to the wrong speakers. It sounds like the dialog is shifting from left, right and rear speakers instead of being localized in the center channel. |
