Little big movie
ner-506166 March 2024
I'm really surprised this movie has such low ratings here. Because it's a really good movie. Like a play in the theater. The entire setting is built in one house - and this is a difficult setting to play a 70-minute film that keeps you in suspense. The film shows how israeli occupation destroys family life, how people try to survibe and can't deal with their emotions when they are locked in one space with their family. In addition, we have a well-shown social background - classic patriarchy - men do nothing and women slave. Worth watching, interestingly done, pretty good acting. Gaza from '90 - you can see that occupation is the same now at it was 30 years ago.

Quietly Compelling

I can't believe there aren't reviews of this. The script is solid, subtle, and assured. That it plays more like a stage piece is, in my opinion, a selling point: What occidental social theorists render as "absurd" is here rendered unaugmented by a very thoughtful filmmaker. This IS life under occupation, the waiting, the attempt to normalize, to educate children, to get through "tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow." I hope people will watch this little movie. It is well worth your time.
