Hundreds of Facebook groups were turned into zombies on Tuesday in an attempt to display just how vulnerable social networkers can be. Using a design flaw in Facebook's groups feature, a group called Control Your Info found Facebook groups where the administrator had stepped down, joined the group, claimed the vacant administrator spot (which is open to any group member when the administrator leaves) and changed the name to Control Your Info.
"When you're admin of a group, you can basically do anything you want with it," the group's Web page states. "You can change it's name, and the groups members won't even get a notification of it. You can send mails to all members and edit info." An evildoer could seize a widowed group (such as the hypothetical group "Sweet Valley High LoOoOoVeS Robert Pattison," for instance) and change the name to something offensive (like "The Coalition for Pedophile's

Twilight fans grab your life-size Robert Pattinson stuffed doll, call all of your friends, gather around your computer monitors and giggle together in anticipation because Screen Rant has got some skin-tingling news for you. Last week MTV showed its first ever Halloween special, Ulalume: Howling at the New Moon. During the show, MTV showed an exclusive clip from the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon and in case you missed it (if you are a Twilight fan, then I seriously doubt you missed it) you can watch the clip over at MTV or just check it out after the jump.
All the popular kids were on hand to debut the new clip, including every girl’s (and a few oddball boy’s) favorite brooding teenage vampire hunk, Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen). Oh yeah, in case you care, Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) were there too. But seriously,

Diablo Cody Goes Back to ‘Sweet Valley High’

I remember when the first Sweet Valley High book came out in 1993. Captivated by the blonde Wakefield twins on the cover, I eagerly snatched a copy up. The aptly titled “Double Love” laid the foundation for the series to come. Despite being outwardly identical, the Wakefield sisters were polar opposites when it came to temperament and personality.
Long suffering Elizabeth was kind and demure, while sister Jessica was haughty, bitchy , and manipulative. Their adventures with boys, friends and school were chronicled in the books. To date, the series boasts over 150 books (ghostwriters helped creator Francine Pascal), and was the basis of a television series that began in 1994 and lasted 4 seasons.
Last week Variety reported that Diablo Cody had been tapped to adapt the beloved series for the big screen. Sweet Valley High fans the world over secretly smiled, because Cody might the be the ideal scribe for the job. After

Oscar winner Diablo Cody is still in high demand even after a less-than-stellar opening for Jennifer’s Body last weekend. She signed to write and produce an adaptation of the “Sweet Valley High” books for Universal Pictures.
The studio outbid Fox for the opportunity and is in the process of acquiring the 152-novel series for a potential feature franchise, according to THR. Francine Pascal created the series in 1983 about two identical twin sisters with very different personalities. Jessica, the conniving, boy-crazy teen, and Elizabeth, the sensitive and practical sister. A TV version ran for four seasons starting in 1994.
Cody’s name also came up in a Tweet by Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy (who coincidentally is dating twins). Hef said, “Meeting with Diablo Cody to talk about the Brian Grazer Playboy film today.” The movie about the creation of Playboy magazine was originally set up with director Brett Ratner and screenwriter John Hoffman,

Simon Pegg happily tweeted about the publicity he hopes to see "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" get in the U.S. now that an on-set burglary has resulted in a trial. If his co-star Megan Fox wasn't enough to get the film some attention, he predicts that his testimony will be.
One film that's been getting loads of Twitter attention this week has been "Zombieland," which everyone seems to have been invited to see. Shannon Elizabeth can be counted among those invitees and gets today's Twitter Pic of Day vote with the cutest zombie kiss you'll see this week. Check it out below along with Rumer Willis' backstage shot of a Govt. Diablo Cody to write/produce 'Sweet Valley High' Adaptation

So, Diablo Cody, queen of all that is trite, is going to be adapting the shallow and frivolous Sweet Valley High teen novels of the early 1980's to a film! Its the perfect mix! Cody's inability to create characters with real human emotion and the pandering and perfect worlds of gorgeous blond twins Elizabeth and Jessica = match made in heaven!
The original series of novels, written by Francine Pascal, follows Elizabeth (the smart one) and Jessica (the fun one) Wakefield through Sweet Valley High School - a place where there are only rich, happy white people. As the series progressed, it went the way of 90210 and Melrose Place and teen high school troubles morphed from 'what to wear to Prom?' to 'kidnapped by a cult', 'stalked by a killer', and 'my best friend has gone insane and died from snorting coke.'
Truly, my faith in Cody has been renewed.

Diablo Cody brings her '90s teen talk to 'Sweet Valley High'

Oscar-winning scribe Diablo Cody will write and produce a movie version of Sweet Valley High.
The Sweet Valley book series, which revolves on identical twins with, like, so different personalities, was created in 1983 by Francine Pascal and continued through a series of spooooky ghostwriters.
A bad TV series based on the books ran for 88 episodes from 1994 to 1997 on Fox and Upn.
Cody, whose latest work on Jennifer’s Body was less than desirable, caught a lot of flak for her annoying writing which is filled with pop-culture references and countless jokes about women’s hygiene products.
Do you think you’re writing will hold up over the next few decades?
“I like when I watch an old movie and they make a reference to something random,” the stripper-turned-Juno scribe told IFC. “Like, when you’re watching Sixteen Candles, and they talk about her dream gift is a pink Trans-Am.

It all started with a little Cam Jansen and Encyclopedia Brown. I chose my own adventure all the way to Nancy Drew, and then things changed. Onto the scene burst the likes of Paula Danziger, R.L. Stine, Lois Duncan, Christopher Pike, and L.J. Smith. I read fast, and I read a lot. When bored, I used to dream of making all my beloved teen books into movies, wondering who would play The Final Friends, and just what Stefan Salvatore would've looked like.
Fast-forward a decade and change, and bit by bit things are coming true. We've gotten a sweetly chaste Nancy Drew, CW's show that vaguely resembles Smith's The Vampire Diaries has capitalized on Twilight mania, and Diablo Cody is taking a stab at Sweet Valley High. So what's left?
A lot, and I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about more '80s fare coming back to life soon.

When I was too old cool for Ramona Quimby’s antics, I moved on to the twin hotties from Francine Pascal's Sweet Valley High, Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield. Yes, I did just call two fictional literary characters hot, let’s not make a big deal of this alright? It’s obvious the girls were supposed to be the fairest in all the land because when the books were turned into a TV show, they got Brittany and Cynthia Daniel to play the twins.
Hubba and hubba.
Now, much like all good things from my childhood, Sweet Valley High is being made into a movie. What makes this special news fit for someone way too old cool to pay attention to the Wakefield sisters in this day and age? Diablo Cody will be the one to write and produce the flick.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Cody's formative years were informed by the books,

Earlier this week it was reported that Universal was in final talks to acquire the rights to 152-book series Sweet Valley High for Academy Award winning screenwriter Diablo Cody to adapt to the big screen. At the time, I wasn't at all excited about the potential project as the source material just doesn't appeal to me (and probably shouldn't since it never was meant to target my demo). But in the last 24 hours I've somewhat rethought my stance on the project, and Cody has spoken up to clear the air about some concerns about the adaptation, which I thought was worth sharing.
Earlier today I re-watched Amy Heckerling's Clueless, which has to be one of the best Hollywood-produced teen movies of all time. While I was watching Alicia Silverstone spout off created phrases and slang words, it occurred to me that Cody's Sweet Valley High might be the perfect

Looking to wrap the much talked-about writer around a Juno-esque series that could potentially spin off into several different films, Universal has signed Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer's Body) to add her quirky, hipster-ish signature to a big-screen adaptation of Sweet Valley High, which, in its 20-plus years, has shoveled out more than 150 related books.
Originally created by Francine Pascal back in 1983, at its core Sweet Valley High follows the trials and tribulations of two teenage twin sisters, Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, who live in the fictional town of Sweet Valley, California. While Elizabeth is a bit of a book nerd who likes reading, writing and wants to eventually become a journalist, her sister Jessica is your standard issue cheerleader who loves fashion...

In a move that can only be seen as “Alright, I guess, sure, why not?” Diablo Cody is attached to adapt the book series, Sweet Valley High for the big screen. Growing up as a manly man in Michigan, I never had the pleasure of reading any of these books, but supposedly Cody has quite the attachment to them and credits them with influencing her while growing up.
Before all you Sweet Valley High fans get all in a tizzy (I know the audience base of Screen Rant pretty well), she’s not going at this alone. Also attached to the project are Mason Novick (producer of Juno, Jennifer’s Body, 500 Days of Summer) and Marc Platt (producer of Legally Blonde, Wanted, A Couple of Dicks).I think with that mix of talent, they should be able to keep Ms. Cody (I’m a gentleman) under control.

Before I begin this post, in which I attempt to cast Diablo Cody's Sweet Valley High, I have a confession to make: I, a man, maaaaay have read some of these books. Wait, I can explain! I have a twin sister, and she had all of them laying around when I was a kid. Also, I was a completely voracious reader back then, and I was like, "Hey, I'm a twin, and so are these characters! Perhaps I'll read one of these on a Sunday afternoon now that I've finished Dostoevsky." Ok, also, I was gay. There's that.
Anyway, now that we've gotten that preface out of the way, let's own our quirks and attempt to cast this thing:

Well it looks like Diablo Cody may have just found that one career-defining movie that she was put on this Earth to write. In the wake of a relatively weak opening for Jennifer's Body, Variety [1] reports that Cody has just signed on to write and produce a movie based on Francine Pascal's Sweet Valley High teen book series for Universal Pictures.
For the uninitiated, the Sweet Valley High books have been around since the '80s, and follow the adventures of two identical twins, Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, as they date boys, compete on the cheerleading squad, and do other stereotypical teenage girl type stuff. The series was adapted for the small screen back in the mid-'90s on Fox and Upn. It isn't very clear whether or not the movie will actually be aimed at younger viewers, or if it will be turned into a Clueless-style ironic teen comedy,

Los Angeles – “Sweet Valley High” filtered through Diablo Cody? That is exactly what Universal is doubling down on, in negotiations to pick up the rights to the long-running book series, with Cody (“Juno,” “Jennifer’s Body”) attached to adapt.

Cody’s formative years were informed by the books, which centered on two teenage girls, Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, who lived in the fictional town of Sweet Valley, California. Jessica was the more conniving and materialistic of the sisters, and usually needed help from the more practical Elizabeth when her schemes went awry.
The series, created by Francine Pascal, made its debut in 1983, publishing 150-plus books with more than 60 million copies in print. The last one came out in January 2003.

Last night, I walked to my desk, logged onto EW.com, and saw something that made my inner 10-year-old nearly jump up and hug the computer: Diablo Cody will be adapting Francine Pascal's Sweet Valley High book series for the big screen. And honest to blog, this news made me as happy as a new set of Lisa Frank trapper keepers. And that's not just because Cody is EW's awesome columnist. No, because if I were to have anyone in Hollywood slap Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield on the big screen, I would pick Cody, regardless of her recent box-office disappointment.
Sure, anyone else in Hollywood could create a sure-fire hit with the adaptation by squeezing a blond wig on Vanessa Hudgens and producing a bland reboot that would excite the sub-10 set. But with Cody on board? I have a feeling this will be a straight-out nostalgia fest, which
