Lionsgate will distribute Soderbergh's 'Knockout'

Lionsgate is set to distribute "Knockout" domestically. Stephen Soderbergh will direct the film which stars Mma circuit fighter Gina Carano. Written by Lem Dobbs ("Dark City"), the film stars Carano as a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is given a second shot to use her skills for a better purpose. Similar to what the classic 'La Femme Nikita' and "Point of No Return" starring Bridget Fonda and Gabriel Byrne... »

Steven Soderbergh has a 'Knockout' to direct.

Director Steven Soderbergh will ber helming 'Knockout' which is set to star mixed martial arts star Gina Carano. Relativity Media is fully financing the spy thriller and a late January, 2010 start of production is anticipated. Written by Lem Dobbs, the film stars Carano as a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is given a second shot to use her skills for a better purpose. Similar to what the classic 'La Femme Nikita' and "Point of No Return" starring Bridget Fonda and Gabriel Byrne. Soderbergh discovered Carano in the Mma circuit where Carano has a 7-1 track record so far and is trained in Muay Thai. »
