Every time we think Queen Elizabeth couldn't get any more likeable, we're quickly proven wrong! On Friday, July 27, a video was shared on the foyal family's official Instagram account of the Royal Logistic Corps band playing "Dancing Queen" outside Buckingham Palace, seemingly proving that the Queen is an Abba fan! "Can you guess this tune? #BuckinghamPalace #FridayFeeling," the royal account captioned the fun video. "Many thanks to The Band of The Royal Logistic Corp for this beautiful rendition!" If you're a diehard Abba fan, you won't be disappointed when you go see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Not only is the soundtrack filled with iconic numbers like "Dancing Queen" and "Super Trouper," but the film features two special cameos from members of the 1970s band. Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, who also served as executive producers for the sequel, make appearances during "When I Kissed the Teacher" and "Waterloo," respectively.
While Andersson spent most of his time on set playing the piano in the background, Ulvaeus was on camera for most of his scene as he played a professor at Oxford University. Both experiences were entirely different, and director Ol Parker told Entertainment Weekly the two were "enormously generous and supportive" throughout filming. Before you go see the sequel in theaters, here's where you should look out for Ulvaeus and Andersson's cameos!

In the ’70s, you always tended to hear two things about Abba: that they were most stratospherically successful pop group since the Beatles (which was true); and that musically, they were a shiny bouncy joke — the quintessence of bubble-gum triviality, four smiling Swedish troubadours in space-age polyester disco suits singing happy jingles of ear candy. Not everyone felt that way, of course; the people who bought all those Abba records clearly dug them. Yet it’s no exaggeration to say that Abba, in their heyday, were reviled by the mainstream press, and that if you tried to make a case for taking them seriously you’d probably be laughed out of the room.
With Abba, it went that way for a long time, though to me that’s quite a mind-boggling statement. For whenever I think of Abba, the following words tend to spring to mind: pure, pop, luscious,...

‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’: The Sequel’s Best Musical Sequence Wasn’t Even in the Original Script
[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.”]
It’s only fitting that long-awaited sequel “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” ends with a massive final song-and-dance sequence that brings together the entire cast, regardless of the timeline they inhabit in the film. Ol Parker’s film serves as both a sequel and a prequel to the 2008 film, with one timeline following Lily James as a young Donna (played in the first film by Meryl Streep) as she makes her way to the Greek island that will become her home, while another focuses on Donna’s now-grown daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) as she attempts to make her mother’s dream of owning a hotel on the island come true.
The two timelines combine into one charmingly over-the-top final musical sequence, a splashy finale that blends together younger versions of characters with their older selves, including the entire cast of the first film. It’s...

If you're eagerly awaiting the arrival of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in theaters and you've already watched the original on Netflix a thousand times, let this video of Amanda Seyfried singing tide you over. Granted, she's singing Google-translated versions of the songs, but we'll take what we can get.
Shortly after the sequel's world premiere, the 32-year-old actress stopped by The Tonight Show on July 18 and took a stab at the Google Translate Songs Challenge with host Jimmy Fallon. She sang an all-new version of "Dancing Queen" called "Hula Prince" that has a twist ending and left us giggling. Watch the video above to see the two other Abba hits she and Jimmy decided to rework, and be prepared to laugh out loud.

It’s been a decade since the smash hit “Mamma Mia” hit the screen, and yet director Ol Parker knew audiences still had the hunger for a sequel.
Parker, best known for writing the “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” series, was originally planning just to write the sequel, before Universal decided he would also be the right choice to direct.
With the film opening Friday, Parker talked to Variety about how Richard Curtis, the screenwriter and director of the original, played a part in pushing him towards the job, Lily James’ full commitment to the part and the famous sequel he was inspired by.
Have you been surprised at at all that there is still a thirst for a sequel even after ten years?
I’m grateful for starters. When I first got the gig I spent a couple of the first days terrified! Obviously we are here because of...

This week is the opening weekend of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, almost exactly ten years to the date of the original 2008 adaptation of the ever-popular West End/Broadway musical that was the highest grossing live-action musical of all time until Beauty and the Beast came along. Coming on the heels of equally feel-good The Greatest Showman and ahead of Mary Poppins Returns, 2018 is proving to be a very cheesy good time at the movies if you’re a fan of these old fashioned singfests.
I adored the movie, writing in my review:
Normal 0 false false false En-au X-none X-none
While it is very easy to dismiss, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again shifts from strange and award to daggy and deliriously dumb so easily that I didn’t even notice I had found myself smiling along to every goofy moment.

The Movie,” you are invited to return to the magical Greek island of Kalokairi in an all-new original musical based on the songs of Abba. Photo courtesy of Universal Studios.
The sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is explosion of late ’70s spandex and glitter set to the tune of Abba hits, which is just what fans of the original Mamma Mia! are looking for.
For fans of either the stage musical, its movie adaptation or even just Abba songs, this sequel hits all the right marks. Set on a sun-drenched Greek island where nothing very bad happens, it is light, sentimental romantic comedy packed to the rafters with those absurd late ’70s-early ’80s fashions. It is also filled with song and dance production numbers,...

They broke up in 1982, after a decade of existence and a staggering eight-year run of hits, and have not recorded new material in over 35 years – but if you’ve been to the movies in the last quarter of a century, Abba has never really gone away. The Swedish quartet’s soundtrack needle-drops in films like The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Muriel’s Wedding helped kick off a revival that’s still going strong; whole generations of fans have discovered Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and...

The first Mamma Mia was a huge hit (close to $610 million worldwide box-office) a decade ago, despite critics making every effort to drive a stake into its Abba-singing heart. And now the global stage smash-turned-hit film rises again in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Don’t bother to get your stakes ready. Like Trump voters, fans of this jukebox-musical franchise see only the good in it, despite irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

You've never heard Mamma Mia! sung like this before. Amanda Seyfried and Jimmy Fallon put their karaoke skills to the test on Wednesday's episode of The Tonight Show by singing Google Translated versions of the musical's classic hits. The actress kicked things off by singing a rendition of "Dancing Queen," which translated to "Hula Prince." Fallon went next and belted out a version of "Take a Chance on Me," which translated to "Steal My Sad Clocks." For the grand finale, the two performed a duet of the showstopper "Mamma Mia!," which was now called "My Mom Arrived." Watch the video to hear them sing the silly tunes. ...

Half sequel, half prequel, and almost entirely disconnected from the film being sold by its trailers, Ol Parker’s “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” is an amiable, energetic followup to the 2008 smash hit. It’s also missing its biggest star, Meryl Streep as Donna Sheridan, and her absence is keenly felt. Thank goodness then for Lily James, whose performance as a young version of Streep’s irrepressible heroine finally seems like the one to catapult the actress to the next level of her career, while also keeping the dizzy (and dizzying) musical afloat.
Set five years after the events of the first film, “Here We Go Again” returns to the picturesque Greek island of Kalokairi, where Donna’s daughter Sophie (a returning Amanda Seyfried) is attempting to make her mother’s long-running dreams of turning their rustic farmhouse into a glitzy hotel come true, though noticeably without the help...

The cast of “Mamma Mia!” is back, and so is one of the film’s — and Abba’s — most recognizable songs. On Wednesday, Universal Pictures released a lyric video to “Dancing Queen” as a preview to the highly anticipated sequel, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.”
Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Dominic Cooper, and Amanda Seyfried are among the returning cast members who recorded on the track. The video features their ensemble vocals while teasing several new colorful visuals from musical numbers set to hit theaters on July 20.
“See that girl! Watch that scene!” the familiar audio rings as Seyfried skips gleefully along the island trails, followed by an animated entourage of Greek villagers in a scene that channels Meryl Streep’s energy from the original film. Seyfried will reprise her role as Sophie, now an expectant mother who is eager to learn more about her own mother’s past.
