Sex & Nudity

  • In the director's cut version Ash and Sheila have sex briefly. She is naked and on top of him and moaning is heard, but the lighting is very dark so no visible nudity or movement. He begins to kiss her breasts while she is moaning when the scene ends.
  • The 1998 US DVD Theatrical release features brief topless nudity.
  • A mention of "pillow talk."
  • A woman's bare back visible as an undead character kisses and gropes her. In the foreground of the same scene a woman's bare breast is seen from the side, with the nipple covered.

Violence & Gore

  • A deadite's head is chopped off with a chainsaw.
  • Skeletons attack a castle, and are chopped down by knights.
  • A man is pushed into a pit, and a fountain of blood sprays out.
  • A graveyard comes alive and many skeleton hands assault a man walking above.
  • Ash is trapped inside the pit with a Deadite, as he gets is beaten up while they fight. Non-graphic.
  • As a man is on the ground, skeleton hands come out and grab his legs and he falls. They then grab his face and punch him. Meant to be humorous.
  • Ash shoots a witch with a shotgun, there's no blood.
  • A man gets a cut down his cheek, little blood.

Profanity

  • The "n-word" is alluded to; Ash is tasked with saying "Klaatu Barada Nikto" but forgets the last word, instead stumbling through other words starting with "N" (necktie, necturn, nickel, noodle) and saying "It's definitely an N-word!" before pausing, looking around cautiously and saying the first two words while covering up the last word by coughing over it.
  • 'F*ck' is said once in the Theatrical version.
  • 'Sh*t' is said once.
  • 'Wh*re' is said once.
  • 'H*ll' is said several times, but generally in reference to the religious concept.
  • 'D*mn' is said seven times.
  • 'B*tch' is said once.
  • 'Son of a b*tch' is said twice.
  • 'P*ss' is said once.
  • 'God' is said three times as an exclamation.
  • '*ss' is said.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Ash drinks from a goblet, implying wine or another alcoholic drink.
  • None.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A lot of frightening and creepy close-ups of faces, but not as horrific as the first.
  • While some images are meant to be horrific, the film is almost entirely comedic.
  • The graveyard scenes can be frightening.
  • This movie was originally intended to get a PG-13 rating.
  • Unlike other films in the franchise, this one is more light hearted.
  • An object that is never shown follows Ash through the woods.
  • A witch pretends to be dead. Suddenly, she wakes up surprisingly. This may be a jump scare.
