This film was really good. It is no masterpiece obviously but it is pleasant, charming and is a nostalgic view of an interesting period.
The idea of them being stuck in the same room, although not original (this film is a re-working of The Breakfast Club) gives a good opportunity to show the characters and give the film a close-knit feel. It shows the difference in attitude quite well between boys and girls, Elvis and Beatles fans.
Where the film jars is the outside scenes, stock footage of the Beatles etc. It makes the film feel cheap.
The guy who wrote this went on to write 'Shine' which was a massive hit so I hope this film is discovered somewhere by someone so I don't look like a loser who only watches Dannii Minogue movies.
