  • Crew or equipment visible: Just after Elizabeth's mother seals the box which Drop Dead Fred is in, a yellow tape-marker on the floor can be seen to the left of the marble-topped table and a blue one can be seen to the right.

  • Continuity: On the night that Fred returns, he walks in dog mess then walks on the carpet and wipes his feet on the white chair. In the morning when Elizabeth finds her mother cleaning the carpet, the chair is perfectly clean and white.

  • Continuity: In the restaurant, when Elizabeth is with her childhood friend, Fred forces her hand to spill wine on herself. When she and her guest are thrown out of the restaurant, her dress is still wet, but when she walks off and Fred chases her around the corner, her dress is dry and clean.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Elizabeth and Fred are on the boat she asks Fred, "What is that water doing there?" He replies, "I don't know," but his mouth is saying something else.

  • Miscellaneous: When Fred is in the engine room of the houseboat, you can see the paddle wheel in the background moving back and forth while the boat is still moving forward

  • Continuity: When Elizabeth wakes up in the middle of the night, she drinks from a glass of water on her nightstand. In the morning when she wakes up, the glass of water is gone.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: The jack-in-the-box starts playing quickly in the middle of the night. When Elizabeth turns on the light it stops, but when it starts playing again, it's at a different part in the music.

  • Continuity: The little girl who plays Elizabeth as a child has blue eyes, but the grown-up Elizabeth has either hazel or brown eyes.

  • Boom mic visible: In the scene where the nurse gives Elizabeth the pill to make Fred go away, the boom mic is visible for a second above her bed.

  • Factual errors: When the Jack-in-the-box begins to play rapidly, the musical pitch becomes higher. Actually, the pitch should stay the same - the music should just speed up.

  • Continuity: The cereal box after Nigel knocks it off of the table, changes position.

  • Continuity: When the cereal box is knocked off the table it clearly spills corn flakes, but if you watch closely when the box is falling you will notice that the box says Wheaties.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Fred slides down the banister, he shouts, yet his mouth is closed.

  • Boom mic visible: The boom is reflected in the picture on the wall, after the nurse throws Elizabeth back into her room and calls her a flake.

  • Boom mic visible: When Charles is taking the woman for a test drive in the car, Elizabeth pulls up next to them, and the boom is reflected in her door before it moves out of shot, though the boom pole is visible throughout the scene.

  • Continuity: The amount of feathers in Elizabeths hair after Fred rips up the teddy.

  • Continuity: After the mother goes upstairs to hide Drop Dead Fred in the box, Elizabeth goes to the dining room table to clean up and you can see a dramatic change in the corn flakes mess. When they first spill it, it is more to the outside of the table and afterward it is more towards underneath the table.

  • Continuity: After Fred brings the dog poop in and gets it all over the carpet and the chair he tosses the ink and Elizabeth has to lunge to catch it. The dog poop isn't on the carpet when she lands.

  • Revealing mistakes: As Fred try to pull his head out of the fridge, under his arms you can see his real hair.

  • Continuity: When Elizabeth smashes the bedroom window with the telephone receiver, only a part of the window is broken. However, when we see the window again seconds later, almost the whole window is destroyed with the destruction looking completely different from the first time we see it.

  • Continuity: The young Elizabeth in the childhood flashbacks has blue eyes, whilst Phoebe Cates, who plays the present adult Elizabeth, has dark brown eyes.
