Rivers Swears At Morning Show Host During Live Broadcast

28 July 2009 3:06 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Comedian Joan Rivers turned the air blue during a live U.S. TV interview on Tuesday morning when she swore at a presenter for cracking a joke about her daughter.

The 76 year old appeared on Good Day Sacramento to promote her new show How'd You Get So Rich?, but the funnywoman wasn't laughing when one interviewer made a quip at her 41-year-old TV presenter daughter Melissa's expense.

The male TV host asked Rivers, "Ever run up to someone and say, 'Hey, how did you get so rich?' and the woman replied, 'By riding on my mum's coat tails!'"

Rivers snapped and cut short the interview - but not before scolding the presenter and dropping the 'F' word.

She snarled, "I don't think so. And I think we're gonna end the interview right now. Don't get so f**king smart."

Rivers' microphone was immediately cut off and the reporter's co-hosts were left to apologise to viewers for the foul language.

Melissa Rivers has carved out a career for herself as a TV personality and an actress, with small roles in now defunct TV shows like Beverly Hills, 90210 and The L Word.

The mother and daughter duo also appeared together on Donald Trump's reality show Celebrity Apprentice earlier this year and once prowled the red carpet at big awards shows for U.S. TV specials.

It's not the first time Rivers' language has caused controversy on live TV - last year she swore on British daytime talk show Loose Women during a chat about a red carpet encounter with Russell Crowe.

She called the actor "f**king s**t", prompting the flustered presenters to apologise for Rivers' foul language. The comedienne issued an apology for her expletives - but then revoked it, insisting the British public had overreacted. »

Garth Recovering From Broken Foot

3 June 2009 9:05 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Jennie Garth is hobbling around her Los Angeles home after breaking her foot in a clumsy accident.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star's husband, Twilight actor Peter Facinelli, reveals Garth is resting up after recently tripping and falling awkwardly at their family property.

He tells People.com, "She had the baby in her arms and she was answering the door, and she misstepped. She tried to save the baby, so she twisted and snapped her foot."

But that's not the only ailment Garth is battling - she opened up about a health secret last week, revealing she was diagnosed with a "leaky" heart valve seven years ago.

And Facinelli insists his wife's heart is just "fine" - after hearing some exaggerated reports suggesting she was suffering from the more serious heart disease.

He says, "My wife has a leaky valve, which is pretty common. A lot of people have a leaky valve and they don't even know that they have it.

"I don't know how that (the misconstrued reports) happened. I was sitting at home with her, and I saw a ticker tape on the news that said, 'Jennie Garth has heart disease.' I said, 'Honey, you didn't tell me.' But no, she's fine. She's fine."

The couple, which married in 2001, has three children together, ranging in age from 11 to two years old. »

Spelling Cherishes Anniversary Sparkler

12 May 2009 9:20 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Tori Spelling's husband Dean McDermott keeps the romance alive in their marriage by gifting her with a new ring on every wedding anniversary.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star wed McDermott on 7 May, 2006, and the couple celebrate their love each year with a new sparkler.

McDermott presented Spelling with an antique French ring with a white and a yellow diamond from jeweller Neil Lane for their third anniversary last Thursday, and the actress cherishes the moment.

She tells People.com, "I love the tradition Dean has started. Every year when he slips it on my ring finger, it reminds me of the day he made me his wife and we started out amazing journey together as one."

And Spelling hopes their two children, Liam, two, and 11-month-old Stella, will continue the tradition for generations to come: "I can't wait to one day pass on my amazing wedding band collection to my kids and their kids." »

Fox's Lesbian Tendencies

12 May 2009 9:20 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Transformers beauty Megan Fox is attracted to women as well as men - but would never consider dating another bisexual female because she wouldn't want a male's "dirty" leftovers.

The actress - who has an on/off relationship with former Beverly Hills, 90210 actor Brian Austin Green - admits she is drawn to sexy women but would only sleep with a lesbian.

She tells Esquire magazine, "I have no question in my mind about being bisexual.

"But I'm also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who was bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I'd never want to sleep with a girl who had slept with a man." »

Spelling Sued By Ex-Employee

17 April 2009 12:00 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The widow of Beverly Hills, 90210 producer Aaron Spelling is facing legal action from a former maid for wrongful termination.

Lourdes Serrano has accused Candy Spelling of firing her in "retaliation", according to a lawsuit filed by the ex-employee on Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Serrano also alleges that Spelling forced her to clock out for twice-daily ten-minute breaks instead of paying her for the downtime as required by law, reports TMZ.com.

Serrano, who is demanding punitive damages and a jury trial, also named the estate of Aaron Spelling as a defendant.

Candy Spelling placed the family home in Los Angeles on the market for a staggering $150 million (£103 million) last month. »

Spelling To Create Children's Clothing Line

3 April 2009 9:05 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Tori Spelling is eyeing a new career - she's signed a deal to develop a children's clothing line.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star has been inspired by her own kids, two-year-old Liam and 10-month-old Stella with husband Dean McDermott, to branch out into the fashion industry.

The clothing line will be called Little Maven by Tori Spelling.

Spelling tells People.com, "I’ve always loved fashion. It’s one of my big passions in life. When I had kids I knew I wanted to use my flair for style to make stylish yet comfortable clothing for my children. Liam and Stella inspired me to make stylish yet accessible clothing for infants, toddlers, and children.

“The comfort (and) functionality factor really influences the styles I include in my collection. I pay close attention to what styles and materials Liam and Stella feel most comfortable in, and then I add the stylish element." »

Jason Priestley is refusing to rule out an acting comeback in the new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off, insisting he would "never say never".

The actor - part of the cast of the hit 90s teen show - is returning to direct an episode of new drama 90210, after declining the chance to reprise his character Brandon Walsh.

He explains, "They approached me with a couple of opportunities, and there was nothing that made sense for Brandon to be there. I thought it made more sense for me to come as a director."

But he hints Brandon could return in the future: "I learned long ago never to say never." »

Spelling Dismisses 90210 Salary Dispute

30 March 2009 9:05 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Tori Spelling has hit back at reports a salary dispute delayed her role in TV drama 90210, branding the rumours "hearsay".

The actress, whose TV mogul father Aaron Spelling produced the original show, was billed to join former Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth in the new spin-off show, but backed out after allegedly falling out with TV bosses over cash.

But Spelling insists her duties as a mother to nine-month-old daughter Stella and two-year-old son Liam with husband Dean McDermott kept her from committing to the project when plans were first announced.

She tells the New York Post, "When I heard about the show, I thought it would be a cool connection to go back, especially because of my dad and for the fans to see (her character) Donna (Martin). But when they were ready to film, I'd just had the baby, so the timing wasn't right. When the offer came back around again, it was perfect. So it all worked out in the fashion that it was supposed to.

"That was all a build up in the press, such hearsay. It was never about money - I still, to this day, have no idea about what Jennie and Shannen made or make, so it clearly wasn't an issue."

Spelling finally filmed two episodes of the series in February and insists she'll return for at least one more season.

But the actress remains coy about joining Doherty and Garth on the show with a recurring role.

She adds, "(My character) Donna's met her little niche in Japan, and she's very successful... and gets caught back up in the whole Beverly Hills thing, thinking that maybe she'll come back and design there permanently." »

Shannen Doherty has confirmed she's heading back to TV drama 90210 for a fiery finale with Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth.

All three actresses were part of the original Beverly Hills, 90210 series, but only Garth has been a regular throughout the new spin-off, playing a high school counsellor.

Spelling recently signed on to recreate her Donna Martin character after initially pulling out of the project due to reported salary issues, and Doherty was only contracted to appear in four episodes as reformed bad girl Brenda Walsh.

She says, "I'm back for the finale, so you can probably expect a lot of drama."

Eonline.com suggests Walsh's character could be returning to adopt teen mum Adrianna's (Jessica Lowndes) baby. »

Cody Tapped For 90210 Guest Role

15 January 2009 8:10 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The cameras have turned on Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody - TV bosses have tapped her for a guest-starring role on the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off show.

The 30-year-old Oscar-winning writer admits she's "completely obsessed" with 90210, and is especially eager to get on set - because she'll be working with stars of the original series, Tori Spelling and Jason Priestley, who will direct the episode.

Cody tells the New York Post, "They (network executives) actually called and said, 'Would you like to be on '90210' and I said, 'I don't care if you want me to wear a bear suit.'

"I love Jason Priestley. I love Tori Spelling. I am so psyched.

"I have been talking about it so much that I am convinced they are going to call me at any moment and say, 'You're out!'"

The spin-off also featured the 1990s series' original castmates Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth.

Cody is scheduled to begin filming later this month. »
