The ensemble drama about young adults growing up in Beverly Hills is a blend of romantic drama and subject matter that crosses all cultural boundaries. (1990-1991) The definitive series on the Fox network's youth-skewing nineties schedule was a nighttime teen soap following the social trials and tribulations of the affluent students of West Beverly Hills High School: Dylan (Luke Perry), Kelly (Jennie Garth), Donna (Tori Spelling), Steve (Ian Ziering), David (Brian Austin Green), Andrea (Gabrielle Carteris), and twins Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Brenda (Shannen Doherty), transplants from Minneapolis who became the core of the gang. The venerable Fox mainstay lasted for 10 seasons. Shannen Doherty lasted less than half of that, leaving in season five. Darren Star created the series.
