• Factual errors: The buccinator muscle is primarily a muscle of facial expression, although it is also an assistant muscle of mastication.
  
  

• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the film one of the doctors refers to the disease "paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria" but mispronounces it, calling it "proximal nocturnal hemoglobinuria."
  
  
• Continuity: When Joe chases after his roommate the night he reveals he knows about the pep pills, the door to the dorm building closes fully after his roommate exits, then closes again just before Joe reaches the door.
  
  
• Errors in geography: As Joe's father is a mackerel fisherman, and the name of the med school is never given, it is possible that this could be an east coast college. But the USC campus, and the background shot of the San Pedro Harbor Bridge from scenes near Joe's house (later appearing in 'Gone in Sixty Seconds' and 'Lethal Weapon 2') place this college on the west coast, not the east.
