Frightening & Intense Scenes

- Allan is treated like a child by his mother and nurse due to his new disability, which can often be viscerally frustrating. For example, his mother insists on moving in with him and cutting off a relationship with a new girl.
- A man nearly falls out of bed and has to be helped by his nurse.
- Allan has some vicious confrontations with his mother, his nurse, a parakeet, his best friend and his doctor. He spews profanities, makes callous remarks and wills living people and animals to die. His shift in personality can be quite sudden and disturbing.
- Allan is hit by a truck at the beginning of the film, rendering him a quadriplegic.
- All of the murders are very intense, as is the final confrontation between Allan and his monkey.

Sex & Nudity
- Allan and a woman eventually become lovers and their first sexual encounter is shown. Because Allan is a quadriplegic and is paralyzed from the neck down, he must give Her oral sex. He lies flat on his back. She is seen bending over him in bed and supporting herself by holding on to an overhead hoist; she lifts herself with it so that he can kiss her genital area, and as her excitement builds, she grips it more tightly. Allan is shown kissing one of her breasts, which are shown, as well as her genitals, which are not shown, although she is nude from the waist down. Neither he or she are shown when the actual orgasm occurs; only the frantic reactions of the jealous service monkey. However, we hear all the moaning and heavy breathing.
Violence & Gore
- A man attempts suicide by suffocating himself with a plastic bag over his head.
- A parakeet flies loose in the house and pecks a quadriplegic man in the eyes; he is unable to fight back as it lands on his face and picks at his eyelids. He wills the bird dead. The bird is later found dead and stuffed into its owner's shoe.
- There is a lot of violence in this film. Allan's service monkey has telepathic abilities and can read his thoughts. The monkey violently murders everyone that Allan has a grudge against or hates. Allan begins to suspect this and eventually kills the monkey by biting her neck with his teeth and thrashing his head back and forth in a violent manner, repeatedly slamming her against the handles of his wheelchair and snapping her neck before finally relinquishing his bite.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Allan has a dream in which his two-timing girlfriend and his doctor burn to death in a house fire; he later discovers that this really has happened.
