Well, I've seen Police Academy 1, 2, 5, 7 & of course this one. I'm not just going to jump ahead and say this is the best Police Academy film yet, but for now it is. I still have to see Police Academy 3 & 6, but I definitely enjoyed this one. I had a lot of laughs. So did my brother.
Before I actually saw the movie, I kept going here on IMDb to check the info for this film. When I heard that they were giving this movie on Comedy Central, I thought "I'm definitely going to watch this!" Then on Saturday, December 2, they aired it on Comedy Central. I was extremely exited that they were giving this movie. I even recorded it on tape. I loved it a lot. I enjoyed it so much that I watch it every single day. This makes me want to ask for the Police Academy movie pack for Christmas. In one way, this movie was important. First of all, it was the first film for David Spade (one of my favorite comedians.) Not only that, but it featured the original cast of the other 3 Police Academy films---With G.W. Bailey returning as Captain Harris. And a new addition to this movie only---Sharon Stone? I cannot picture Sharon Stone in a Police Academy movie.
There is another amazing about this film. It was only David Spade's first movie, and he had quite an important role---with his name being shown in the opening credits. Not many actors have their name shown in the opening credits when it is their first film. But something confuses me. That is the fact that Tony Hawk was in this film. It's hard to believe he was because you can hardly even see him in the skateboarding scene. But he was credited at the end. They even show him with the other skateboarders. Preety Young wasn't he? Only about 16 years old.
I thought this was an absolutely great film. In my opinion, it deserves more stars than the other Police Academy films i've seen. It was truly a great 80's film. I think many teenagers today will enjoy this movie because they will get to see how young David Spade & Tony Hawk were (even though Tony Hawk was shown at the end only.) What i'm trying to say is that people of all ages should see this because it is hilarious and they are going to laugh their asses off. I certainly did.
