Terry Lofton and Bill Leslie’s 80s slasher Nail Gun Massacre has had something of a resurgence in popularity lately – including a VHS re-release of the film as part of May 2012′s Texas Frightmare Weekend. Released in a numbered and limited version (only 1000 copies exist), with red VHS cassette, the tape brought the film a new audience – myself included – allowing a new generation to appreciate the films “unique” style of storytelling.
I mention the limited Texas Frightmare VHS release of Nail Gun Massacre as the founder of that horror festival, Lord Cryer, is bringing us the remake! Cryer is teaming with Laid to Rest/Chromeskull director Robert Hall – who is apparently a fan of the original film and worked on bringing it to Blu-ray in 2014. Hall and Cryer will produce the remake and Hall will also direct.

Terry Lofton and Bill Leslie’s 80s slasher The Nail Gun Massacre has had something of a resurgence in popularity lately – finally debuting on Blu-ray on both sides of the pond: in 2014 Code Red released the film in the Us, whilst here in the UK the film was released as part of 88 Films Slasher Classics in 2015.
However that rebirth of The Nail Gun Massacre wouldn’t have been possible without the VHS re-release of the film as part of May 2012′s Texas Frightmare Weekend. Released in a numbered and limited version (only 1000 copies exist), with red VHS cassette, the tape brought the film a new audience – myself included – allowing a new generation to appreciate the films “unique” style of storytelling.

Code Red is giving 1985′s Nail Gun Massacre a high-definition upgrade and we have release details, along with a look at the cover art. Nail Gun Massacre on Blu-ray will be limited to 1,000 copies and is available for pre-order for $19.99. The title is expected to ship later this month and contains quite a few bonus features, including an alternate cut of the movie:
“In a small Texas town, the peaceful atmosphere is shattered when a beautiful young woman is the victim of a savage sexual assault by a gang of construction workers. Shortly after this horrific event, a masked killer begins a blood-drenched killing spree with the help of a pneumatic nail gun. Victims are nailed to trees! Lovers are nailed to each other! As the increasingly mutilated bodies begin to pile up, a local sheriff and the town doctor begin an investigation to solve the deadly crimes before the...

Code Red has been going “code blue” of late, releasing the likes of Nail Gun Massacre and Just Before Dawn on Blu-ray. We now know of seven more forthcoming Blu horror titles from the 70s, 80s, and 90s they have in the works to further empty your wallets in the coming year.
We haven’t come across any official word from Code Red regarding these newest offerings so it may be that Blu-ray.com let the proverbial cat out of the bag by listing these titles for future release the other day. In any event, here are the details:
First up, for the first time ever, a director’s cut of Jim “Forced Entry” Sotos’ 1983 chiller Sweet Sixteen, starring the all-star cast of Aleisha Shirley, Don Stroud, Bo Hopkins, Dana Kimmell, Patrick Macnee, Susan Strasberg, Larry Storch, Henry Wilcoxon, and Michael Pataki.

With other companies making waves releasing cult horror films on Blu-ray, it's no surprise Code Red DVD is getting in on the trend by bringing Nail Gun Massacre, Just Before Dawn, and The Electric Chair to hi-def.
Code Red announced on its blog that the company's first foray into Blu-ray will be the 1974 obscurity The Electric Chair. I’m not even familiar with this one. Are you? If so, you might be excited to hear a 97-minute cut of the film will be coming to a loaded Blu-ray to be hosted by former WWE diva Maria Kanellis and TV’s “Monster Man” Cleve Hall.
Following that will be the notorious 1985 splatterfest Nail Gun Massacre, about members of a construction crew that gang-rape a young woman and then begin getting brutally killed off by a mysterious maniac wielding a nail gun. Code Red promises another loaded disc boasting both a brand...

Remember in Kill Bill Vol. 2 when David Carradine (Bill) explains to Uma Thurman (Ms. Kiddo) why he finds Superman to be the most fascinating of all super heroes? Basically he says that Clark Kent is Superman’s vision of humanity, his criticism and his observation of man. He says it with a slow drawl and makes you feel all gushy and warm up until he hits the punch line when you get the feeling like you might just wanna punch Superman in the face for belittling us so. Yes, we are the dorks you have been looking for. We are the weak people of Earth who where suits and ties and spectacles, but you know what? We also invented the fuck out of you, Superman! I only go through this little ramble because quite honestly I saw a shot-on-video movie that was put together by a young man by the...

The 20th anniversary DVD for the movie Nail Gun Massacre is pretty darn entertaining. It’s nice to see that a distribution company recognizes its fan-base. These guys have given us a “kill menu” and a “sex scene” menu without batting an eye. Just look at the way the marketing gurus have used nails to spell the word “nail gun” in the cover art. The film itself may be short on quality, but what it lacks in cinematography it makes up for in out and out 80′s nookie scenes. It Came From 1980 X brings you the joint DVD/VHS for a classic slasher, camp sleaze fest. We can all agree that it’s a bad movie, but that’s just the way we like ‘em. When you search the web for this movie you find it on everyone’s bad list, and it absolutely belongs there, but there’s plenty...

This is the double feature sure to make you a hungry horror fans. For It Came From 1980 X this week we are tackling two very kitchen related horror films from the 1980′s. First is Gore-met, Zombie Chef from Hell. Second we have Microwave Massacre. While you’ve no doubt seen the covers of this VHS classics any number of times, maybe even been repulsed by them, there’s no guarantee that you’ve actually seen and “enjoyed” them. Enjoyed is in quotations because quite honestly you can’t say that you like either one of these films based on their merit. They’re as close to the horror equivalent of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fodder as you’ll find in the genre. The promise of the gross out and poor production value is why you’d seek out these classics. I’m fairly certain it is not possible to get laid while watching these movies.

The home video boom of the early ‘80s changed the horror and exploitation film landscape forever.
Obscure, low-budget films from the past became more accessible and gave horror fans a chance to see those titles only read about in Famous Monsters and Fangoria. The rise of “mom and pop” rental shops also helped to put the final nail in the coffin of the independent movie houses. Drive-in theaters and past-their-prime “hardtops” (affectionately known as grindhouses) that exhibited first-run, low-budget genre films slowly began to disappear.
Why would exploitation audiences take the trouble to go to the drive-in when they could create their own lurid triple-feature at home? Not only did the home video market change the way low budget films were seen, it also greatly altered the quality of the productions when the “direct-to-video” wave hit. Say what you will about the micro-budgeted genre films of the ‘60s and ‘70s...

It's common knowledge that the slashers that came in during the late eighties weren't high on intelligence. Don't believe me? Well, if any of you have seen films like Slaughter High, Blood Diner, Chopping Mall, Killer Workout, The Last Slumber Party, Nail Gun Massacre, etc., then you'll know why. Personally, I prefer the sheer stupidity of these films to the attempts at being scary in the early eighties. That's what I loved about the decade: two…...

Rage From director Chris Witherspoon comes "Rage". Rage is the story of a man who unknowingly provokes the wrath of a dark, mysterious, homicidal motorcyclist and must fight for his very life. Looking at the trailer (seen below, after the jump) Rage recalls such horror efforts as Nail Gun Massacre or director Umberto Lenzi's Nightmare Beach (aka Welcome to Spring Break). Elements associated with those films were some pretty cool death sequences and a sense of fun and excitement. Hopefully, Rage can live up to that. The teaser trailer shows that Rage has that potential so hopefully it lives up to that.
In Rage, Dennis Twist a suburban 30-something unintentionally provokes the wrath of a mysterious and homicidal motorcycle rider. The confrontation with “The Biker” escalates into a day long battle of cat and mouse concluding in an extremely violent rampage. Starring in Rage is Rick Crawford (Trunk) and...

Rarely does the title of a film alone make us want to see it, but it does happen. For instance, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Nail Gun Massacre, Blood Sucking Freaks, and of course The Toolbox Murders. Yep, a good name can immediately make a horror fan's eyes open wide. Such is the case with Big Tits Zombie in 3D.

Filmmakers always talk about how awkward it is filming sex scenes. Well guess what? Sometimes it's Equally as awkward watching them! When they're done well, they can be hot, but when placed in the wrong hands, a sex scene can be the worst viewing experience ever. I submit to you that the following 10 films contain some of the most gag inducing sex scenes ever caught on film (excluding pornography of course). Many of the films on this list are included for different reasons; some are brutal, some are awkward, and some are just plain gross. Get ready to have your mind And your genitals blown! These are my picks for the 10 most gag inducing sex scenes. (Caution: Some of the following images may be considered Nsfw.) 10.
