Sex & Nudity

  • There's a scene where Emma and Murphy talk while strolling a hospital corridor. At one point, they are seen from the rear, and it is revealed that Emma's hospital gown is open in the back and her backside is on view to all passersby.
  • Sally Field's ex-husband, Bobby Jack, is always trying to sleep with her, but is played for comedic effect.
  • Bobby Jack enters the shower nude, and his buttocks are visible for a second.
  • Some mild but frank talks about sexuality and relationships. These conversations last seconds at a time. Mention is made in passing of a town cross-dresser, and that abortion is not available. Murphy admits he visits a woman out of town for companionship.

Violence & Gore

  • A scene in a movie theatre includes a scene from a "Friday the 13th" movie, with some drops of blood falling onto a magazine and an impalement that cuts away without revealing any gore. No other violence beyond a few punches and arguments.

Profanity

  • 1 use of shit, fuck, piss, god and my gosh 2 uses of hell and oh my god 4 uses of damn 1 with god 1 used as damned
  • Damn is used quite often as well as hell, but harder words are seldom used. (S-word and B-word) There is one f-word, used in a sexual connotation.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Tequila and beer are drunk. A few cigarettes are smoked. Nothing extreme.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The principals watch a "Friday the 13th" scene in a movie theatre. A woman rests on a hammock until she finds blood dripping onto her magazine and she is suddenly impaled from beneath. The scene cuts away without revealing intense violence.
