Trivia:
Miss Scarlet reads to Professor Plum the directions to their dinner date while she is in his car after he picked her up. She says that they are headed for "Hill House," which is the name of the house in Shirley Jackson's "The Haunting (1963/I). more
Goofs:
Continuity: When the guests are done searching the house, they hear Col. Mustard and Miss Scarlet yelling because they are locked in the lounge with the now dead driver. Yvette runs and gets the gun to shoot the door open, she trips on her way out of the study and shoots the chandelier and it begins to spin. The camera then pans to a shot from the ceiling looking downward on the room as Col. Mustard and Miss Scarlet are freed, the reflection of the lights from the chandelier are seen on the floor and are not spinning although the camera shot changes from the ceiling shot to a shot of the chandelier spinning and eventually falling. The reflection does not move although the lights themselves are supposedly spinning above. more

My ALL-TIME favorite movie!!!, 11 March 2005
10/10

I would have watched this movie for the first time when I was around 6 years old, a year or so after the movie was released. Even at that young age, I laughed till I cried for SO many of the movie's jokes. Now, in my twenties, I still have to watch it every couple of months. I don't exactly "cry" from laughing any more, but I still find myself smiling and chuckling through the entire duration, from start to finish. There's quite a few major laughs in this movie, but there are TONS of silly, little jokes/lines that are amongst the most amusing I've ever heard.

The cast is perfect, especially Tim Curry in his role as Wadsworth the Butler. I thought he was fantastic in Rocky Horror, and he does it again in this board game-based movie. He has some of the best comedic timing I've seen, especially in a movie from the 80's. Add to that the likes of Michael McKean, Martin Mull, Eileen Brennen, Christopher Llyod, Lesley Ann Warren and the hilarious late Madeline Kahn, and you have yourself what I would consider the best ensemble cast ever gathered for a comedy. The visuals (the Boddy Mansion and all its rooms) are beautiful and engaging, and the score is very suitable for its mood.

Plus, in a highly original move, there are three endings to this film, all of which are included on the DVD and video. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
