  • Revealing mistakes: Animation errors can be found in each and every episode, and some of these are quite noticeable. Characters are colored differently from shot to shot at times, robots that should be dead appear randomly, and sometimes, you can see the same character twice in the same shot. Another issue is the misplacing of animation cels, which resulted in characters appearing to be small/gigantic, and in some instances, full limbs and other body parts are missing.

  • Continuity: The cartoon is notorious for its lack of continuity and the number of its plot-holes - at least compared to later Transformers shows. For example, robots that could fly in one episode suddenly lose this ability, the Decepticon group called the Constructicons have three contradicting origins, and it is also common for newcomer characters to simply appear in an episode with no explanation given as to why they haven't been seen before. As such, it is not surprising that most of the cast ended up being ignored and forgotten when new characters had to be added.

  • Continuity: Wheeljack's "ears" that light up when he speaks change color randomly between episodes. Sometime, they shine with blue light, in other episodes they are red, yellow or white.

  • Miscellaneous: In most episodes, the Decepticon symbol is drawn incorrectly. It has three "spikes" jutting out of its middle-upper section, when there should only be two. This is probably due to faulty animation models, and is this a legitimate error. On a handful of occasions, the symbols are drawn the right way.
