Adam Rich died from an accidental fentanyl overdose in January, according to an autopsy report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.
Rich’s bloodstream also had what was termed nontoxic levels of alcohol and the generic version of Ativan, called lorazepam.
Rich, best known for starring in the television drama-comedy Eight Is Enough, was 54.
He died January 8 at his Los Angeles area home. No foul play is suspected.
The Eight Is Enough series followed the Bradford family, which consisted of eight children. It detailed their life as they date, grow, marry and had children themselves. Rich portrayed Nicholas Bradford, the youngest son.
The ABC show, which also starred Dick Van Patten, Lani O’Grady, Connie Needham, and Grant Goodeve, ran from 1977 to 1981.
Rich’s other TV credits included Code Red, Dungeons & Dragons,S mall Wonder, St. Elsewhere and Baywatch.

Critical Role’s upcoming animated series “The Legend of Vox Machina” — based on storylines in the group’s long-running Dungeons & Dragons role-playing show — has found a streaming home.
Amazon’s Prime Video nabbed exclusive streaming rights to two seasons of “Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina,” which originated as a fan-supported project on Kickstarter and set a record the most-funded TV or film project ever.
Following the Kickstarter campaign, Cr had planned to produce 10 episodes of “Vox Machina.” Under the agreement with Amazon, Prime Video ordered an additional 14 episodes, for a total of 24 episodes across two seasons. In addition, Amazon Studios inked a first-look deal with Critical Role to develop new series to premiere exclusively on Prime Video worldwide.

Magic: The Gathering, the cult fantasy card game, will soon be the focus of an animated series bound for Netflix. The Russo Brothers, who helmed Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, will oversee the series, with the duo crafting a new storyline revolving around the game’s stocked roster of wizards, monsters, “Plainswalkers” and more.

After 26 years of supernatural success at retail, the tabletop trading-card game called “Magic: The Gathering” is getting its first Hollywood screen adaptation: Netflix has just announced an animated original series called Magic:The Gathering from executive producers Joe & Anthony Russo, the co-directors of Avengers: Endgame.
The Russos will partner with both Hasbro, the Rhode Island-based toymaker, and Wizards of the Coast, the Seattle outfit that publishes both the Magic card game and Dungeons & Dragons, the classic 1970s game-changer. Hasbro has owned Wizards of the West Coast since 1999.
The showrunners for Magic:The Gathering will be Henry Gilroy (Star Wars Rebels) and Jose Molina (The Tick). Gilroy & Molina will also write the show. Animation will be done by Octopie Network and Bardel Studio.
