  • Continuity: When K.I.T.T. is first introduced, the front end is a stock Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that is blackened out. This is seen throughout the long highway drive to Silicon Valley. But when Michael and Kitt arrive at their destination, the front end is the custom version used throughout the entire series.

  • Revealing mistakes: KITT drives himself back to the gas station after being stolen. When the car pulls up beside Michael, the stunt driver's arms can be seen steering the car, then quickly moving out of shot.

  • Crew or equipment visible: Camera and cameraman is visible in the car when Michael gets shot.

  • Revealing mistakes: During the demolition derby, you can clearly see the ramps used to make KITT go on to 2 wheels and jump over the cars.

  • Continuity: Near the end of the movie Michael Knight has been shot in the shoulder. As he is driving KITT the shoulder he has been shot in swaps sides two or three times.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When KITT returns after being taken by the car thieves, you can see the stunt driver's arms just as KITT pulls up along side Michael Knight.

  • Continuity: The nose of K.I.T.T. changes multiple times in the movie. At some point the nose has lights in it, other times the nose is more armored looking and thus has no lights at all. The nose consists of black metal plating

  • Continuity: The end chase takes place in the middle of the night. It is dark from beginning to end. Yet in a single shot in the middle we see K.I.T.T. riding at dawn.

  • Miscellaneous: The copyright date at the end of the closing credits is wrong. It reads "MCMLXXVII" in Roman numerals, or 1977. The "V" should have been another "X," which would have given the correct date of 1982.

  • Continuity: During the chase after Michael has been shot he keeps holding different shoulders. One shot he is holding his left the next he holds his right.

  • Continuity: During the scene where Michael is pulled over to the side of the road by the police for driving whilst asleep the rear of KITT, although only seen for a matter of seconds, is different. The black-out panel covering the rear lights is missing and the "KNIGHT" license plate is substituted for a standard one.

  • Continuity: When Michael is shot near the beginning, his body is lying in front of the car he switches position several times, when the helicopter is coming to land he is laying with his head on the left of the screen but switches back to the other side when close-up.

  • Continuity: When Wilson shoots at K.I.T.T. it ricochets and hits the helicopter but when you see shots of the helicopter damaged, it is smoking on the opposite side. Also when the helicopter comes into land you can clearly see the box attached to the side of it.
