"St. Elsewhere" (1982): Season 1: Episode 1 -- Chaos abounds at St. Eligius as Dr. Cavanaro searches for a mental patient lost amid hospital bureaucracy, and Dr. Morrison fights to prevent a risky operation on a young girl with dysentery.

In this first episode we are introduced to the hectic pace of St. Eligius and the toll it can take on some of it's principle characters. Life and death decisions must be made quickly and this doesn't leave room for professional courtesies or emotions which explode in unexpected directions at unexpected times. This pilot is a great primer on the characters and atmosphere one can expect at St. Eligius, better known as St. Elsewhere by those who can or can't afford to go somewhere else.

"St. Elsewhere" (1982): Season 1: Episode 2 -- A young woman, the victim of a terrorist bombing, fights for her life, while a conflicted Dr. Morrison must treat the reprehensible terrorist.

The husband of a stroke victim struggles to help her rehabilitate.

Season 3, Episode 1: Playing God: Part 1

Fiscus gives the new residents a tour of the hospital. A nun must decide whether to disconnect life support when her fellow sister, injured in a car accident, is declared brain dead. After stalled negotiations with management, the nurse's union considers striking. Three city firefighters are rushed to the hospital after suffering serious burns. Clancy tells Jack that she is pregnant but has no plans on keeping the baby.

Sister Domenica threatens to take the hospital to court over the right to disconnect Sister Teresa's life support. Caldwell continues to treat the injured fire fighters. Fiscus treats a child whose only relative is a woman claiming to be his fairy godmother. Ehrlich teaches a sex education class to bypass patients. Westphall is forced to reinstate Peter White. Clancy decides to go to an abortion clinic without Morrison's support.

The nurses go on strike. The rapist strikes again at the hospital. The Craigs decide to see a marriage counselors. Westphall prepares as his daughter goes off to college.

Auschlander feels negligent when a long-term maintenance worker develops asbestosis. White desperately attempts to locate his children. A mental health patient admits to the hospital rapes. One of the firefighters develops complications in his treatment. Ehrlich's bid to meet the new nutritionist turns into a disaster.

Auschlander hires Joan Halloran as his assistant. White has a reunion with his wife and kids. A gun is stolen from the ER. Axelrod thinks there is something wrong with him.
