The Group A performers on “The Masked Singer” went back in time for Wednesday night’s “Time Warp” episode, with the Hamster being unmasked following his performance of “Sabor a Mí” by Luis Miguel. The furry rodent lost his head in front of America and turned out to be movie star and comedian Rob Schneider.

“It’s hard to compete against a bull who can do the splits,” Rob joked during his unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “I saw that and I said, ‘I’m gonna take my nut bag and get out of here.'” The “Saturday Night Live” alum dedicated his performance to his wife Patricia and his daughters Miranda, Madeline and Elle. “I was so nervous and I go, ‘What am I this nervous about?’ I’m dressed as a hamster. You get into it!

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched “The Masked Singer” Season 6, Episode 6, “Time Warp,” which aired October 20 on Fox.
It’s been thirty years since he was making copies on “Saturday Night Live.” Now, Rob Schneider has been revealed as the Hamster — Hamming it up, the Ham-star, the Hamsterminator, Masked Over My Hammy, Hams-i-Am, M.C. Hamster — on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.” Schneider had been disguised as the Hamster, but was unmasked at the end of the sixth episode of Season 6, “Time Warp.”
“It’s the most fun I’ve ever had on television,” Schneider told Variety. “Without the pressure of being on ‘Saturday Night Live’ or carrying a sitcom, it was the most fun for TV. I think ten years ago, I would have done better at it, hold a note a little bit better. But they have a vocal coach, and it does help.

School of Rock is back! On Netflix, that is. This is excellent news. If we can ignore the fact that Jack Black’s character Dewey Finn does some seriously illegal, borderline sociopathic stuff in the film’s story, while also tanking an entire school year for a classroom full of precocious kids, Richard Linklater and Mike White’s family film absolutely rocks our socks off. It’s a modern classic that has spawned a Broadway show, TV adaptation, and countless click-baity “What are the kids from School of Rock doing now?” articles.
Of course the chief reason why this movie goes so hard is its star Jack Black. Not since the 2000 film High Fidelity had a project so perfectly utilized Black’s unique comedic and musical talents, and really, no movie has quite done so since. Anyone that had a stoner friend with access to HBO in the early 2000s has likely heard “Yo,...

Tenacious D have put their own spin on two of the Beatles’ classic Abbey Road tracks, “You Never Give Me Your Money” and “The End,” for a new seven-inch vinyl release for charity.
Rather than perform the entire Side Two medley from the original Beatles album, the tenacious duo bookend their single with semi-faithful renditions of the two songs, and fill in the gaps with some absurd verses and scatting of their own. As with their previous single, “Time Warp,” the limited-edition vinyl release of the medley will benefit a charity,...

Has anyone else ever been given the impression that Jack Black was the kid that was seeking to get all the attention in school and did whatever he had to get it? That’s the feeling that some folks might get, but he’s made a rather impressive career out of this since he’s considered to be one of the funniest men in Hollywood and it’s displayed in this modified video for Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I might get all kinds of hate for this, but trying to figure out the allure of this movie is still kind

The final few days before the 2020 presidential election will see phone banking, music videos and more cast reunions as Hollywood figures make a last push, largely for Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Biden’s presidential campaign continues to draw on heavy support from the entertainment industry. On Friday, they tweeted out a video created by Diane Warren that is performed by JoJo.

That is just one of many videos that will be flooding social media. Will.i.am, who produced the breakout “Yes, We Can” video for Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008, created a new one tied to a Biden speech called “The Love,” featuring the Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson. It’s received nearly 33 million views on YouTube.

Just in case you need a pick-me-up during the week before the election, Tenacious D has you covered with a positively delightful cover of “The Time Warp” from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Just in time for Halloween! Watch it above.
Of course, those of you reading this know what we’re talking about — it’s the fourth song in the cult classic movie musical, and the one sung by Riff Raff, Magenta and Columbia just as Brad and Janet have entered Dr. Frank-n-Furter’s creepy castle. The song is a glam rock tribute to the many rock and roll songs about dance crazes and mainly just describes a dance called The Time Warp with very, very easy to follow instructions: Jump to the left, step to the right, put your hands on your hips, bend your knees in time, then pelvic thrust a whole bunch of times.

The famous red lips haven’t turned blue in the newly adapted “Rocky Horror Picture Show” imagery because they’ve spent too much time on the slab. The color scheme is emblematic of Tenacious D’s goal in doing an all-star remake of “The Time Warp” that has a “Rock-y the Vote” message — specifically, to vote blue or, as the revised lyrics have it, make “a jump to the left and not a step to the right.”
Beyond incorporating clips from the original 1975 movie musical, Jack Black and Kyle Gass enlisted a couple of key Democratic politicos for the new music video — former presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg — as well as a range of celebrities including George Takei, Phoebe Bridgers, Jamie Lee Curtis and King Princess.

As the new documentary “Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies” points out, 2020 is a risky time to make movies that feature female nudity, particularly if it’s of the gratuitous kind. But, as “Skin” doesn’t say but does demonstrate, it’s also a risky time to make movies about onscreen nudity, even if you try to emphasize that it’s a work of scholarship not titillation.
To be sure, the film from writer-director Danny Wolf and writer Paul Fishbein (the “Time Warp” series of docs about cult films) takes a historical approach to the subject of on-screen flesh. It’s a chronological account that makes copious use of authors, critics, academics and even an art historian to talk about the place of the nude in art.
But it also illustrates the points they make with plenty of breasts, bums and penises. And its attempts to deal with...

It’s really hard to make a documentary about movie nudity. Even with the best of intentions, one can really easily fall into exploitation and titillation, as opposed to information. Luckily, filmmaker Danny Wolf is up to the challenge, as his doc Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies, is thoroughly entertaining, full of interesting stories, and looks at the naked body on celluloid as a piece of cinematic history, never going for the pure visual aesthetic. The result is a look at part of the industry’s past, present, and future, that’s a great view for anyone who loves the movie industry. Hitting on Tuesday, it’s well worth seeking out! The film is a documentary about, quite literally, the history of movie nudity. Starting off with the silent movie era and going all the way to the present day, the focus is on the how and the why of it all.

The excellent documentary series Time Warp continues on May 19 with the second instalment, looking at some of the horror and sci-fi films that we love to visit again and again, and turn our friends on to. This is what makes a special favourite into a cult film; repeat viewings, and spreading our zany enthusiasm to anyone who will listen. The series continues with Joe Dante and his panel of Illeana Douglas, John Waters and Kevin Pollack providing colourful anecdotes, insightful commentary and behind-the-scenes context.

Nope, this isn’t the new Bong Joon-ho movie, but a 3-D oldie from 1982. Although it’s by no means a great picture, fans equipped for Blu-ray 3-D will want to take a look — the depth effects fashioned with the over’n’under Sterevision system are some of the best yet. Stan Winston provides director Charles Band with the ‘Alien’ rip-off title critters, and added interest is provided via an early appearance by Demi Moore, who sleepwalks through her part but certainly looks good. A full complement of extras tell the making-of story; the feature is also encoded in 2-D, for really imaginative viewers.

Long Awol from Home Video — the last time I peeked it was an unwatchable pan-and-scanned laserdisc — this early Charles Band opus came at a time when the purveyor of third-class horror thrills could command a budget. A rather phenomenal list of ’70s special effects hopefuls collaborated to give the show lasting appeal, mainly by including some stop motion monsters from a parallel dimension. An average American family spends a chaotic night battling bizarre phemoneema… phelomea… stuff that’s leaked into our reality through that nuisance Sci-fi catch-all, a Time-Space Warp. A pair of big name stars twenty years past their sell-by date endure all manner of rubber critters, zipping flying saucers and green-glowing supernatural artifacts!

Thanksgiving is a day for overstuffing, so it’s only fitting that the latest season of “Mystery Science Theater 3000” will be available to streaming in a portion just big enough to gorge in one sitting, should overeager viewers so choose.
As the latest trailer for “MST3K: The Gauntlet” shows, watching all six parts of the new season won’t be that far off from what Jonah (Jonah Ray), Crow (Hampton Yount), Tom Servo (Baron Vaughn), and the rest of the Satellite of Love crew are going to be subjecting themselves too as well. In a slight spin on the show’s time-tested formula, the gang will be tortured by an unprecedented six-movie marathon.

Mst3K Season 12 on Netflix is a go! Expect more Mystery Science Theater 3000 on your screens just in time for Turkey Day.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 12 will head back to Netflix for more mirthful movie-riffing, just in time for a proper Thanksgiving Turkey Day marathon. Indeed, Jonah Ray, Felicia Day, Patton Oswalt will be back in their respective MST3K roles, joined, of course, by Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo and Gypsy.
Last year’s inaugural revival season was officially titled Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return. This time, however, the sophomore round will bear the formal title, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Gauntlet. This is because the series is upping the cheesy movie stakes higher than ever with a cinematic sextet ominously referred to as “The Gauntlet.”

To celebrate the October 16th release of the horror anthology Tales of Halloween, Daily Dead spoke to the filmmakers behind the movie to discuss the project, their individual contributions and more.
Mike Mendez is best known as the director of films like The Convent, The Gravedancers, Big Ass Spider! and, most recently, the horror comedy Lavalantula for Syfy. He’s both a producer and a director on Tales of Halloween, contributing the ’80s slasher-inspired “Friday the 31st.”

Sometimes you pick the films you’re going to review based entirely on how ridiculous the titles are. And then you come across a film like The Day Time Ended.
I’d tell you the plot, but I’m really not sure it has one. The opening narration is so badly mixed that I couldn’t tell if it was part of the story or just an old Shatner record played backwards. IMDb relays it thusly: “Aliens visit the solar-powered house of a middle-class family,...
