3 December 1981Dick McWilliams, an old army buddy of Magnum's has been kidnapped. Dick's Japanese wife Mitsu ask TM to drop the ransom without informing the police or her father, who never approved of the marriage in the first place.
17 December 1981Kendall Chase, a prima ballerina, is staying at the estate as a guest of Robin Masters. Magnum is tasked with being her bodyguard after an incident in New York City.
24 December 1981Virginia Fowler is ghost writing the autobiography of the illusive, wealthy eccentric Harold Farber. She hires Magnum after her apartment is ransacked and her notes and tapes of the book are stolen.
7 January 1982Kate Sullivan, a reporter that Magnum, TC and Rick met in Vietnam, wants Magnum to find a former British MI6 strategist who dropped out of sight to write a book and may be arriving in Hawaii.
14 January 1982Magnum is searching for a spy who's been selling computer information from a large corporation. The president of the company tells him he suspects his wife of having an affair and asks him to follow her. Magnum is distressed to find her having an intimate dinner with one of his best friends, Rick.
28 January 1982The Ferrari, with an unconscious and injured Magnum in it, is found at the bottom of a cliff. Magnum is rushed to a hospital but when he regains consciousness is found to have amnesia and cannot remember what happened.
4 February 1982Magnum goes to Sicily at the request of Robin Masters to rescue a friend's daughter who was being held by mobsters. Tom rescues the girl and brings her back to the estate and then trouble occurs.
11 February 1982Someone is trying to kill professional football quarterback Dorsey Bramlett who was the backup quarterback for Magnum at the U.S. Naval Academy. Bramlett contacts Magnum and asks Tom to be his bodyguard.

30 September 1982Magnum, TC and Nuzo had escaped from a North Vietnamese POW camp during the Vietnam War. Nuzo returns to Hawaii and tells TC that the brutal Russian Colonel who was at the camp has returned to the U.S. and is going to kill him.

25 February 1987Frank Sinatra, in his last major acting role (he planned to appear on "Magnum, P.I." again the following season, but Tom Selleck's scheduling conflicts forced the producers to cut back the episodes and Sinatra's turn never came) casts him as a retired New York cop who learns that his beloved granddaughter was kidnapped and murdered by incredibly vicious sexual predators during his retirement celebration. Sgt. Doheny eventually tracks the two killers to Hawaii and enlists Magnum's help without telling him why he wants to find the men. One of the killers flees Doheny and is run over by a bus. In a quiet, intense way, Doheny describes the killing to Magnum and makes it perfectly clear that he will kill the other murderer if he finds him, no matter what the circumstances. Magnum goes along hoping to find the killer first and spare Doheny from a murder rap.
