It’s the holiday season and, for most, that means it’s that very special time of year when you get see your family; That large group of people you hate and utterly despise but, do to some arbitrary blood relation, feel provoked to associate with at least once during the bleakest, darkest, and most devastatingly cold part of the year. And, as always, what makes the company of these cringe inducing kin barely tolerable is that wonderfully distracting invention known as the television. For most kids, the holidays mean more than just Santa, and gifts, and honey-glazed ham. It means you get to crowd around the tele (in much the same way that imaginary family, in those invented greeting cards, sit around a fire) and melt away your brain on usually mindless seasonal programming.
Now whilst most children grew up on flicks such as The Little Drummer Boy, Rudolph The Red-nosed Raindeer,

Margot Kidder Writing a Morbid Chick Flick

During a Q&A session at Minneapolis' Crypticon horror convention this weekend, guest Margot Kidder revealed she's writing a script for what could be a badass chick flick.
The revelation was quite a treat for this Kidder fan. I've enjoyed her work since I was in Superman Underoos and loved the shit out of her performances in a trio of '70s horror classics: Sisters, Black Christmas and The Amityville Horror.
Kidder said her script-in-progress is "about a group of women helping an elderly woman get out of the hospital to die somewhere nice and peaceful, without doctors around her."
The women conspire to smuggle their friend out of the hospital and spirit her away to a remote cabin, where she can die amidst nature. Sounds like it could be a depressing-ass flick, but Kidder described it thusly: "It's sort of a romp and a middle-aged babe sisterhood kind of thing."

Undertones: Volume 7
It's the time of the year again where folks' minds turn to the macabre and the ghoulish; where death is celebrated rather than feared and of course, when dusty copies of horror films are taken off the shelf to terrify and amuse. So, in honor of the Halloween season it would seem only right that this installment of Undertones concern itself with the scores of horror films or, more specifically, those that emerged during a particularly groundbreaking and ultra-violent decade of cinema - the 1970s.
Many of the horror films of the 1970s did not involve supernatural beings such as vampires, werewolves and swamp things, but the terrors of home and society at large. The menacing figures of films such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Hooper, 1974) and Halloween (Carpenter, 1978) may have worn crazy masks and looked decidedly 'un-human' but the messages these films posited concerned themselves with that of

It’s that time of year again. The pumpkins are out, the leaves are turning colors, the air is brisk and chilly. It’s time for the spooky stories, the frightening films, the maybe not so scary but at times certainly inventive costumes and that most important element…..candy corn. Yes folks, Halloween season is upon us once again.
My yearly tradition on All Hallows Eve is to hole up in my house, turn off all the lights and settle in to a nice good ole fashioned Horror movie. What other way to celebrate right? I figured this would be the perfect time to run down a list movies that fit this time of year perfectly. Let’s run them down by letter shall we?

Alright Fango Fiends, it's time for another installment of Fangoria's Lists Of Doom - the column where we track down some of your favorite (or soon-to-be favorite) bands to get their thoughts on on the world of horror.
Tonight we're catching up with Los Angeles' Flatline, another band carrying the old-school torch into the future with their own brand of highly-polished metal.
Flatline recently released Pave The Way through Stand and Deliver Records, and just had the balls to cover perhaps the most famous song by Cannibal Corpse - "Hammer Smashed Face" (see the vid below, released this week) and do it well!
The band took the time to get Fango up to speed on their favorite horror flicks, while prepping for their upcoming tour with Threat Signal, The Agonist, and Thy Will Be Done.

Margot Kidder cast in Rob Zombie's 'H2'

Superman actress, Margot Kidder, will join the cast of Rob Zombie's sequel to his 2007 Halloween redo H2.
Kidder will play Barbara Collier, Laurie Strode's (Scout Taylor-Compton) therapist in a story that picks up right at the end of the first film. Details of the plot are largely unknown besides the return of Michael Myers, his knife and a killing spree. H2 will find Strode constantly beside herself. Escaping a crazed lunatic will do that to you.
Margot Kidder is something of a horror veteran, having appeared in Sisters, Black Christmas and The Amityville Horror.

Rob Zombie has announced the latest addition to the cast of his currently shooting Halloween sequel, H2 and it's none other then Margot Kidder. Zombie writes, "Margot Kidder has joined up as Laurie Strode's therapist Barbara Collier." Most fans recognize her as Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeve Superman films. She's also appeared in genre classics Black Christmas and The Amityville Horror.
Meanwhile, Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that young Michael Myers Daeg Faerch has been replaced by Chase Wright Vanek (pictured below). You can see another pic of the young actor over on Bloody-Disgusting's post Here.
You can keep up to date on the production via Rob Zombie's My Space blog at: http://blogs.myspace.com/robzombie.
Rob Zombie returns to write and direct Halloween 2, which stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Malcolm McDowell, Tyler Mane, Sherri Moon Zombie, Danielle Harris, Brea Grant, Bill Moseley, Caroline Williams, Daniel Roebuck, Dayton Callie, Richard Brake,

Despite being well into filming, Rob Zombie keeps the casting process going for his upcoming sequel, Halloween 2. The newest face? Margot Kidder. We hope the former Lois Lane has kept Superman's phone number. Something tells me she's gonna need him.
Zombie announced via his MySpace page that Kidder, who's no stranger to the genre what with Black Christmas and The Amityville Horror under her belt, will be playing Laurie Strode's therapist Barbara Collier.
Given that Margot has been deemed a bit on the loony side lately, this development at the very least should make for some interesting times on set.
In other H2 news, Zombie also posted that the title of the film was changed to H2: The Devil Walks Among Us, but then quickly removed that nugget of news. Maybe he changed his mind? Maybe he jumped the gun? Who knows?
Look for Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 in theatres on August 28th,

Message to Rob Zombie – FEARnet appreciates all of the great info and updates you've been providing us on your official MySpace page in regards to H2, Halloween 2, H2: The Devil Walks Among Us, The Guy With That Scary William Shatner Mask or whatever it's being called today. But we fear we may be reaching information overload. Slow down, shoot the flick and check in from time to time to let us know what's happening. Oh, and also, invite us on set so we can see first hand all of the cool shit you are up to. Thank you. Love FEARnet.
That being said, Sir Zombie has updated his official MySpace page with a picture of Margot Kidder (The Amityville Horror, Superman) with this message; Margot Kidder has joined up

Well known nutter and one of my favorite actresses from the 70's, Margot Kidder (The Amityville Horror, Sisters, Superman, Black Christmas), has joined the cast of Rob Zombie's Halloween sequel, which apparently has been given a new name. "Margot Kidder has joined Halloween - The Devil Walks Among Us as Laurie Strode's therapist Barbara Collier," writes Zombie on his official blog. I wasn't a big fan of the moniker H2 and think Halloween: The Devil Walks Among Us is pretty solid. Shooting is now underway in Georgia as Dimension has the film slated for release on August 28.
Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane, Chase Wright Vanek, Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon Zombie, Danielle Harris, Ezra Buzzington, Brea Grant, Chris Hardwick, Matt Bush, Dayton Callie, Richard Brake, Howard Hesseman, Bill Fagerbakke, Bill Moseley, Caroline Will, Margot Kidder all star.
