  • Crew or equipment visible: After the bank job, when the Driver is escaping in the red truck, the camera is reflected in the glass of the truck's back window. It's on a tripod in the truck bed, covered with a blanket.

  • Continuity: When the Driver first takes off in the red truck, you can clearly see him working a floor mounted gearshift (almost falling into the dashboard during one shift)... later during the chase sequence, the close-up cuts to him working a column shifter, then back to a floor shifter in wider shots.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When The Driver elegantly destroys the Mercedes, there is a quick shot where the car hits a wall head-on, then reverses away. The stunt driver is visible as his blond wig almost falls off.

  • Continuity: In a couple of shots in the first car chase the lid is missing from the trunk of the Driver's car. However, it isn't until a couple of minutes later that we see the police actually blow the lid off with a shotgun blast.

  • Revealing mistakes: During the scenes where the Mercedes is being crashed around in the parking garage, after the rear end is crunched you can see the lid tied down with string or wire.

  • Continuity: As the two bank robbers exit the bank, you can see the Firebird used in the escape parked directly outside during one shot, and then a minute or two later, the Firebird isn't where it was in the previous scene. (It actually comes flying around the corner, skidding to a stop right where it was originally.)

  • Continuity: During the chase sequences, several background cars are seen over and over again; in particular, a blue mid-'70s Chevrolet Chevelle pops up multiple times throughout the two major chases. In the first chase, the Driver passes a white Ford pickup truck at an intersection, then a few seconds later almost sideswipes the same truck at the same intersection.

  • Continuity: When the cops are chasing the Driver through the parking garage, the siren sound effect disappears for a few seconds then abruptly cuts back in.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: The three-slot payphone which the Driver uses in the hotel does not make its characteristic "ding-ding" when he inserts the coin.

  • Continuity: During the Pontiac Firebird/Pickup car chase, the Firebird switches from a broken passenger side rear light, to a normal, and back to a broken one.
