The movies English language title, which includes the UK, USA and Australia, is "Foxbat"
Reportedly, apparently some of the music featured in the film was from the Charles Bronson actioner 'The Stone Killer' (1974) which had debuted about four years earlier. Music Composer Roy Budd composed the music on both pictures.
Actor Rik Van Nutter and script consultant Terence Young previously had collaborated on the James Bond movie 'Thunderball' (1965). That film like 'Foxbat' (1977) also featured aircraft as a central story element.
British veteran director of thrillers and adventures, Terence Young, provided script annotations for the movie's screenplay. From this process somehow Young ended up being publicized as the picture's co-director in certain markets and territories, despite the fact that Young was not on set at all during principal photography.
The film made its stateside premiere on CBS broadcast under the title of ''Operation Foxbat''.
