- Continuity: When they are attempting to lower things onto the moving train with a helicopter, it conveniently changes from overhead-powered electric to diesel. Immediately afterwards, it changes back.
- Continuity: The number of carriages on the train varies. At some points, there only appear to be five carriages but in the climax, we see at least six or seven plunge into the river, whilst another three (containing most of the stars) are spared.
- Continuity: The locomotive that heads the train into the yard is a different one to that which hauled the train all the way from Geneva. There are other inconsistencies between shots as the train makes its way across country.
- Factual errors: When the two sections of the train are separated the brakes in both sections would be applied automatically stopping both sections of the train presumably stopping both before reaching the bridge.
- Revealing mistakes: If the bridge hadn't been used for such a long time, the tracks would have been rusty. However, in at least one shot we see that their upper surfaces is shiny, indicating that trains quite often run on them.
- Errors in geography: Several characters say that people used to live under the Cassandra Crossing, but then moved away. The only thing under the crossing is a river.

- Continuity: SPOILER: In the scene where Jonathan enters one of the rooms to ask Haley for help, Haley is seen sitting with his shirt collars undone. He had visibly taken off his clerical collar in a previous scene. This is where Jonathan realizes Haley is not a priest. In the very next shot, Haley is seen with his collar's buttoned and clerical collar in place.
