Clive Owen Gets Back
By
Alex Simon
Clive Owen is one of those actors that keep surprising you. Just when you think the audience, and the Hollywood establishment, has pegged him as an action hero, a leading man, or a romantic comedy pin-up, Owen pulls an about-face and does something unexpected.
It all started October 3, 1964 in Coventry, England. Owen’s father, a country music singer, abandoned the family when he was just three. His mother later remarried, with Clive and his four brothers raised by his mother and stepfather, who worked for British Rail. Owen has characterized those early years as "rough." A self-described “solidly working class” kid, Owen was bitten by the acting bug at age 13 and followed his dream to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art several years later. Taking note of how to define what is a British Film. Aside from the British Film Institute, there are a lot of lists that feature British cinema's best. There is one particular issue that The Guardian pointed out, which at some point, was an important consideration in our own list of 10. A few days ago, The Observer published the Best British Films poll, to which it was pointed out:
... how to define a British film. Did it need to be shot here? Funded here? Feature predominantly British talent, in front and behind the camera?

Not to be confused with Jonas Åkerlundshades' film of a similar title, The Horseman is a new Australian revenge flick that's about to start getting A Lot of worldwide attention. How do I know this when the film has yet to have any commercial screenings and is only now starting to make it's presence known in the Europrean Film Market? Because we've actually had a copy floating around the Qe headquarters for a while just waiting for a screening. Consider how much I'm a sucker for the inherent drama of a good revenge film I'm surprised it's taken me this long to give The Horseman a spin, but man am I glad I finally did because Steven Kastrissios might just be the first director in a long time that truly gets the revenge genre.
