It won't hurt you ...

Hmmmmmmmm ..... the main protagonist here is a pretty boy let us even say a mummy's boy who looks like elegant hairdressers looked like in 1970 in France Italy probably Spain roaming around aimlessly in Counterculture USA seeking one surmises meaning and experiences ... The locales vary ... we move around much so far so good ... Occasionally he punctuates his wanderings with Godardesque readings from texts which might be philosophy or popular spirituality He looks about as convincing as Brigitte Nielsen playing Cassius Clay in a ballet adaptation ... And yet none of this matters ... The ad lib remarks of denizens of 1970 Golden Gate Park for example or the landscapes the arty if somewhat cheesy photography all combine to make a sort of kaleidoscope of the times of the Counterculture which came to an abrupt end with 1980 Reagan and the first stirrings of Neo-liberalism So watch it if you like meaningless nostalgia ... it will relax you

Interesting film, with beautiful Vangelis soundtrack
mutanteradiante3 December 2011
An experimental film that explores the different aspects of love (don't get confused about the "Sex" word on movie's title). No real plot, but many assembled sequences which creates an strange (and interesting) atmosphere. To really enjoy the film you should get carried away by his evocative images, echoes of a past that will not return (in that sense the film is truly unique). Diametrically opposed to the actual concept of filming, it was also an unusual film in its time, and today is a gem that should be revisited.

Special mention to the beautiful soundtrack, one of the first great works of Vangelis, where is outlined his future sonic palette. Also the presence of the gorgeous Jane Birkin is very enjoyable too: She looks painfully beautiful.

Well, you should abandon any prejudice to enjoy this film, and of course, even doing that, it will still not be appreciated by many. But believe me, actually there are no films like this one who remember us that cinema is much more than a marketing plan. Enjoy Sex-Power. Thank you very much for reading the review.
