Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Profanity

We all know the concept of this film series: apes have evolved, and now consider themselves superior to humans. Of course, the irony is that the evolved apes act just as badly as their human predecessors! Even Cornelius, one of the apes sympathetic to the cause of the subjugated humans, falls into this category. In one scene, he is seen smoking around his pregnant wife! Using a standardized scoring system, this film received a smoking rating of 4 Butts (on a scale of 0-4 Butts). For more information on the impact of onscreen smoking and the initition of youth tobacco use, or for more information on the rating system, visit www.smokescreeners.org.
