Some call it fatally overblown, some defiantly non-commercial. The blogging circuit is abuzz as Qt's latest script is leaked
For most screenwriters, the time-gap between completing a script and having it judged by your audience can be sizable. Not so Quentin Tarantino, who completed his screenplay for upcoming movie Django Unchained on 26 April and earlier this week woke to discover half the blogosphere had already read it. Many sites reprinted the front page, loving completed in Qt's own childlike scribble, to prove they had seen the script. Did somebody at the all-day party Tarantino apparently held last week to celebrate its completion nip off and make copies? Or did someone at the Weinstein Company decide to slip a few in the post to key players? No matter: the word on Django Unchained is out there, and it's too late to shoo it back into its box now.

Good morning all. Welcome back to the Atomic DVD Shelf.
Last week we kicked off the column with a look at Halo:Legends, Black Dynamite and more. If you missed it, check it out. This week, there’s an even greater number of new films, and overall the quality is better.
There are some definite disappointments here and a few that never stood the chance of being good, but amidst that, there’s more than a few gems hiding out in this week’s lot. Let’s begin shall we?
The Box
Nate’s rating:
★★½☆☆
When I reviewed this one for AP back in the fall, I was accused of giving away the film’s secret; whether or not Cameron Diaz and James Marsden pushed the button. Well, it’s no secret to tell you that this concept, which drove the short story it was based off, isn’t the big...

Orlando -- The trade show floor at exhibition confabs like ShowEast 2008 tends to be dominated as much by tech displays as popcorn-and-candy vendors these days.
Gloomily, floor traffic appears down at both this year. Vendors blame economy-slackened show attendance and competition from off-site movie screenings.
At one point on Wednesday -- the second day of operations on the trade show floor -- staff at a huge Sony Electronics booth outnumbered customers by about six to one.
The situation elsewhere on the floor wasn't much better.
"It's not been very good," lamented Brian Stuckelman of Dale & Thomas Popcorn, which is pushing a new chocolate-covered popcorn product. "The economy doesn't help. It seems like some companies aren't sending their people here this year."
Ray Estrada of Blair Communications, a Dallas-based marketer of two-way radios for theaters and movie sets, also cited recessionary cost-cutting at entertainment companies.
