  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: "Q" talks with his mouth closed.

  • Continuity: In the casino scene, Bond can be seen in the background talking to Felix Leiter before they have met (they know each other already, of course, but the bedroom meeting is presented as the first time they've met for a while).

  • Continuity: Hand pulling on lever in "rack" sequence shown pulling lever to full position twice.

  • Continuity: Bond has long sleeves only in the close-up shots of him removing the wraps from Major Derval's body in the health spa.

  • Continuity: Bond replaces his blue scuba mask with a black one, but is seen wearing a blue one later.

  • Continuity: Bonds' swim trunks are wet after the swim in the cove yet they're dry as he walks from behind the wall.

  • Continuity: The comb in Domino's hand when she meets Bond for the first time.

  • Continuity: When Bond meets Domino for the first time in the underwater scene he is wearing flippers. In the next scene, when he is talking with her behind her boat, he has no flippers on his feet. When he swims back to his own boat his flippers are back again.

  • Continuity: The boat captain's hat gets knocked off three times during the fight.

  • Continuity: In the opening scenes, as Bond fight with Jacques Bouvar (still dressed as a woman), the dresser falls down on Bouvar, and his hat and wig are knocked off. When Bond lifts the dresser off him, the wig and hat are back on his head.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: Largo dialogue unsynchronized when he returns to the Disco Volante for the final chase and battle scene.

  • Continuity: When Bond and Leiter are in the helicopter at the Golden Grotto, Leiter has shorts on. The shot changes and he has long trousers on and then reverts back to shorts in the next shot.

  • Continuity: Image of Domino scuba diving is momentarily reversed (regulator hose momentarily switches from right to left side, along with reversal of her swimsuit pattern)

  • Revealing mistakes: When the plane goes down in the sea, wires suspending the model are visible.

  • Continuity: When Bond is shot in the calf - as he runs away, the blood is on the right leg; when he crawls onto the float, its on the left. The next day he is diving to check the plane without so much as a bandage on either leg.

  • Continuity: The Colonel throws a vase at Bond who is about to catch it on his right shoulder. When we see Bond from behind, the vase shatters on his left shoulder.

  • Continuity: When Bond is at Shrublands, and is checking out his neighbor's room (the bandaged man), his hand jumps in and out of his pocket between shots when he hears the door open and hides behind the door.

  • Continuity: Domino steps on an egg spine with her right foot. When Bond takes out the spine, he does it from her left foot. During this scene, their respective positions repeatedly change between shots.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When the cars arrive at the mansion after attending the funeral, they enter through the front door. While it's opening the film crew's lighting equipment is reflected in the door.

  • Crew or equipment visible: After Bond has escaped Largo's sharks, lighting equipment is reflected in the car door as he opens it.

  • Continuity: Bond's Aston Martin's boot (trunk) lid is clean when lifted to deposit the jet pack, but has a huge amount of dust (apparently from the landing) when seen a few seconds later in the view into the car through the rear windscreen.

  • Revealing mistakes: When the Disco Volante hits the rocky island and explodes, you can clearly see an old vessel is being used as "body-double".

  • Continuity: When Bond enters the room where Count Lippe is having a sitz bath, the sign on the door says "Massage". When he leaves the room, the sign on the same door says "Sitz Bath & Heat Treatment".

  • Revealing mistakes: In close shots, the rear part of the Disco Volante (after splitting) is not floating and not moving in the water and is obviously a fixed stage.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: At the beginning of the movie, when Bond is talking to the French woman on the balcony outside the church, he says, "As I said, later," and then, "Come on." The words "Come on" are out of synch with his mouth. He looks to be saying something completely different.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Bond is coming out of Largo's Palmyra basement after seeing his helper dead, the door swings open widely, but makes no noise.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Bond is escaping from the Island after he finds the girl is dead he comes out of a basement/cellar and opens the hatch which visibly slams open hard, but silently.

  • Continuity: When Bond is escaping from the Island after he finds the girl is dead he comes out of a basement/cellar and opens the hatch door. He runs off without shutting it but when in the next cut his followers reach the door, it is now shut.

  • Continuity: During the final scene when Bond and Domino are climbing into the raft, Domino's bathing suit has only one strap over the left shoulder from a distance and returns to straps over both shoulders during close up scenes.

  • Continuity: When Bond is riding in the helicopter around Palmira, one shot shows him looking out of an opening on the right side of the helicopter, with the left side being a solid wall. A succeeding shot shows him looking out of an opening on the left side of the helicopter, with a solid wall on the right side.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Bond hitches a ride with Fiona in her Mustang convertible, the engine sound that's overdubbed comes from a smaller sports car.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: The first time we see Bond and his partner dancing in the outdoor nightclub, the band can clearly be seen behind them. There are several brass instruments playing and a soloist is clearly standing and playing a muted trumpet. The music we hear, however, is purely strings without brass of any kind, much less a trumpet. There are no violins to be seen in the orchestra.

  • Continuity: The part in James's hair reverses while he is in the helicopter talking to Felix Leiter due to a flipped shot.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Bond and Leiter fly over Palmyra in the helicopter and look at Largo's shark pool, the image is reversed (the part in Bond's hair appears on his right side). The shot was clearly taken at the same time as the shot of the two of them inspecting the Golden Grotto a few minutes earlier in the film, and reversed to match the external shot of the helicopter over Palmyra (in which the left side of the helicopter faces the shark tank).

  • Continuity: When Bond emerges from the basement at Palmyra, he opens the door and leaves it open. A moment later, we see the door and it's closed again.

  • Continuity: At the Junkanoo (the parade) 007 is shot in the leg as he escapes. In the close-up shots of his legs there is a scarlet blood stain, in the long shots of him there is no blood pouring from either leg.

  • Continuity: When Bond unwraps the bandages from Angelo's face he is wearing a short sleeve shirt, but close ups twice reveal arms and hands removing the bandages wearing a long sleeve black shirt.

  • Revealing mistakes: In the last underwater fighting scene Largo, who is supposed to be an one-eyed man, has a hole in his eye-patch revealing his second eye.

  • Revealing mistakes: Obvious fast-forwarding used in a number of scenes in the movie. Some examples include the car careering off of the road following the motorcycle attack, and the crash of the Disco Volante at the end of the film.

  • Continuity: When the Brits listen to Largo's tape recording, they begin the message at the very beginning of the tape spool, which is moving at slow speed (probably 3 3/4 IPS). When the very short message ends, the spool of tape has advanced about 1/3 of the way through the tape, which is much too far for a short message at that tape speed.

  • Factual errors: When Bond dives the sunken Vulcan bomber, he enters the cockpit through a small door via the bomb bay. It is not possible to access the bomb bay from the cockpit due to being separated by bulkheads, the nose gear and a fuel tank.

  • Revealing mistakes: When the camouflage netting is placed over the Vulcan, you can clearly see the mock-up has no wings or tail fin attached.

  • Continuity: The scene with Bond underwater searching for the Vulcan bomber shows his dive cylinder as plain white, however on surfacing and handing the tank to Felix Leiter, his cylinder has a large blue manufacturer's sticker (Voit Lung) on the back.

  • Continuity: When Q is showing Bond his new gear in Pinter's shack, he has a watch on in the close up's, and no watch in the wide shots.

  • Continuity: During the Vulcan high-jack, Angelo swaps places with the co-pilot, who stands behind the seat. After the crew is gassed, the shot of the rear crew shows a fourth person has suddenly appeared in Angelo's back seat.

  • Continuity: When Domino asks James to kill Largo, her hands aren't touching him in one shot, then they are on his shoulder in the next, then on the side of arms in the next shot.

  • Continuity: When putting the jet pack into the trunk of the Astin Martin, the trunk lid is unable to close all of the way. Later when driving away the lid is closed.

  • Continuity: Also during the Junkanoo (the parade) as Bond is escaping, the word GALLIANO is flipped in 3 shots, including one where the mirror image wording is prominent and silver watch on the henchman chasing Bond moves to his right arm from his left arm.

  • Continuity: The map on Moneypenny's wall between her and M's office changes from Central America before the conference, to the Soviet Union and Europe after the meeting.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: With the velocity that Bond opens the basement door (and doesn't stop it from falling after seeing his assistant dead), there should have been a loud slam. But there was no noise.

  • Continuity: After Bond kills Vargas, Domino starts talking to him. In the shot from behind Bond, Domino's hands are placed on Bond's shoulders, but in the next shot, facing Bond, her arms are at her side. In the very next shot, again from behind Bond, her hands are once more on Bond's shoulders.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Largo releases the sharks into the main swimming pool, where they move to devour the henchman Bond has just killed, the normal behavior of the species should result in a feeding frenzy that would to some extent rile the waters of the pool and cause the cover over it (which Largo had closed to keep the men trapped underwater) to move noticeably, even violently. But when the scene above the pool is shown, the cover is nearly still, and in fact, virtually all signs of underwater movement quickly die away.

  • Revealing mistakes: When Bond is swimming through the small passageway between the regular pool and the shark pool, he stops briefly to make way for one shark swimming in the opposite direction. As he watches it swim by, Bond's right hand is plainly leaning on a piece of glass between him and the shark swimming past.

  • Revealing mistakes: The meeting of all the Double-0 agents is held in a conference room where top secret information is shown and discussed. Yet in the front of the room there's an enormous, floor-to-ceiling, completely uncovered window through which are visible several buildings just across the street, from which any foreign agent could easily spy on the proceedings unhindered.

  • Revealing mistakes: An obvious stunt double for Bond portrayer Sean Connery, clad in a pink swimsuit, swimming in the canal, then emerging up the stairs and alongside the bridge

  • Revealing mistakes: Just before the rear section of the Disco Volante explodes, at least one dummy can clearly be seen "seated" on its starboard side.

  • Revealing mistakes: Writing on Domino's scuba mouthpiece backwards in one shot as she emerges from the sea, revealing use of a mirror image.

  • Revealing mistakes: Wires visible on Vulcan when it lands on the water.

  • Revealing mistakes: The SPECTRE operative recovers Bond's large size double scuba tanks with one hand and impossible ease. As he lifts them water can be seen pouring out of the nozzles - probably hollow plastic with water to help them sink a little.

  • Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Bond reveals the tape recorder in the dictionary, he pushes the stop and rewind button and the tape stops, then rewinds. Subsequent to this, the sound of the play button being pressed can be heard and the tape begins to move but Bond's fingers do not move to press the button.

  • Continuity: In the scene when the boat is going "out of control" the direction the boat is going according to view out the windows doesn't match up with the direction the steering wheel is turning.

  • Continuity: When Bond is underwater, a diver takes his goggles. He then attacks another diver and "steals" his goggles and puts them on. Not only do the goggles change color from black to blue in rapid succession, but the goggles would be filled with water if Bond put them on underwater.

  • Continuity: In the opening scenes, as Bond fight with Jacques Bouvar (dressed as a woman), Bond knocks him towards the fireplace and we see a fire burning in the fireplace. Bouvar grabs a poker as he rises and attacks Bond with it; Bond's defense again throws Bouvar up to, if not actually into, the fireplace. Bond then throttles Bouvar with the poker. However, there is no fire in the fireplace any longer and it would appear that the fireplace is cold, as if there had been no fire at all.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Following the playing of the taped message with details of the ransom payment, Moneypenny hands a note to M, who then reports to the other staff; "Oh yes, a single from double-O seven", instead of "a signal".

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The Panamanian flag on the Disco Volante is upside-down throughout the film. It flew in that configuration only in 1903.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The ransom is to be dropped, according to the briefing officer at "Precisely 20 degrees north, 60 degrees east" off the Mergui Archipelago. A glimpse at an atlas shows these locations are actually about 2,500 miles apart.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The VIP played by Roland Culver is called Home Secretary by M but in the end titles is listed as Foreign Secretary.

  • Continuity: After Bond informs Domino of her brother's murder, Domino's tears make her mascara run. This is after a long dive that doesn't mess up her make-up.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Bond punches Felix as he's about to say "007," so as to not tip off his identity to the man hidden in the bathroom. But then Bond says it himself after apprehending the man, who is still conscious and can hear him.

  • Continuity: Bond observes from his ground floor bedroom window the arrival of the ambulance at Shrubland's to pick up the real Duvall's body. But when Bond goes to investigate he's seen coming down a flight of stairs.

>>> WARNING: Here Be Spoilers <<<

Goofs below here contain information that may give away important plot points. You may not want to read any further if you've not already seen this title.

  • Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: At the end of the film when Bond and his girl are in the rubber lifeboat, the overhead close-ups of the scene reveal the bottom of a white swimming pool the raft is floating in. The depth showing the white surface at the bottom and the gentle waves around the raft show that the water is very shallow.

  • Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: In final scene when Domino kills Largo there is some sort of box under Largo's diving suit just where harpoon arrow is plunged.

  • Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: During the final fight scene aboard the Disco Volante, the boat is racing through rock-filled waters, continually missing large rock outcroppings at the last moment (at least one of which is shown twice). But even though both Bond and Largo at times try to steer the boat away from the rocks, it's shown going at such high speed, and so close to one rock after another, that it would be physically impossible to steer it away from the rocks at the very last moment, as repeatedly happens during this sequence.

  • Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: Just before the Disco Volante strikes the rocks and explodes, the scientist yells, "Look out - the rocks!" First, he's looking in another direction, away from the rocks, when he says this, and so couldn't have seen them. Second, his lips aren't synchronized with what he says. Also, when he says this the rocks are shown directly ahead and, at the speed the boat is traveling, it should be a matter of only a couple of seconds before it strikes them; yet at least 10-12 seconds or more elapse while Bond, Domino and the scientist run on deck, talk, abandon ship, and surface in the water in time to see the ship hit the rocks and explode.

  • Plot holes: SPOILER: Bond, Domino, and the guy who untied Domino escape from the Disco Volante before its destruction by jumping overboard. But only Bond and Domino are seen getting into the raft at the end. It seems unlikely the two of them would leave this man (who rescued Domino, no less) who had difficulty swimming, in shark-infested waters.
