To raise the money for her son's eye operation, a single mother agrees to marry an older man.
Nobuko Otowa is note perfect in the starring role, but the story feels slight and somewhat soap opera-esque, the dialogue often borders on inane, and the side story of her brother is largely unnecessary, too.
A film of powerful isolated moments (mostly from Otawa and Taiji Tonoyama as the husband, also the actor playing her young son) but not enough of them to make me want to go back and watch it again.
5.9 out of 10.
